American actor and director Clinton Eastwood Jr. was born May 31, 1930. After succeeding in Rawhide, Eastwood became famous for playing the "Man with No Name" in Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy of spaghetti Westerns in the mid-1960s and as antiheros cop Harry Callahan in the five Dirty Harry films in the 1970s and 1980s. Eastwood is a masculine symbol because of these roles and more. Eastwood was elected mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea in 1986 and served for two years
