Clinical Math: Working with Percentage Solutions in Veterinary Medicine

Kendra the Vet Tech (Licensed Veterinary Technician) goes over how to work with solutions that are presented as a percentage. We will go over 2 examples with real life labels (Dextrose & Lidocaine) that are commonly seen around the clinic. Learn how to set up the initial equation to move from a percentage to a fraction, then simplify your fraction, finally convert your fraction to the workable milligrams per milliliter to use in your dimensional analysis. You will then be prepared to find the volume of the drug desired for your patient! We'll end with a final example (calculating phenylbutazone "bute") learning how to use our new knowledge to think outside of the box when working with clinical math. Stay until the end for a fun quick tip surprise!

You seriously deserve more views and subscribers. I just got done with pharmacology in semester 2 of my vet tech program. I STRUGGLED with % solutions. This has made it actually click in my head. I appreciate this more than you know. Please put out more videos with medical calculations. I LOVE your videos! They are very helpful in my studies. Thank you so much!!!!!
