Ryan, I am 62, from the Philippines... no ice or snow here (except on the freezers ). I am not a mountain climber and will definitely never be one... But I viewed your video just for the sake of one thing: seeing, enjoying and experiencing Mt. Everest through your eyes... And I am so happy for the experience you have provided to me... Now I know: Everest is just a piece of very, very huge tall rock covered with lots and lots of ice.. That's it!

I hope you're as good and cool a person as you seem to be (just because that's important in life) You have lots of life ahead of you and I wish you the best and offer prayers for you 🤩❤🙏❤🤩

Mt Whitney is the highest peak in the lower 48, and you can climb it on a day hike, although to get up and down before dark you have to start about 5am from Whitney portal -- it's 14.5k ft, and there's about half the oxygen at sea level, and as an un-acclimated person you really feel that as you approach the top, with plodding steps and frequent resting -- on a vigorous hike I can believe 9k ft is also difficult -- even the scenery there is fantastic, the impressive vastness of it all

😂 (@ 1:50 in) I love how this guy almost went full blown Sir Edmund Hillary and thought about leaving behind all the benefits of western civilization and becoming Nepalese just at the sight of all the beauty and freshness around him only to turn his head and see his GoPro pointed at him and he immediately turns back into a KZreadr. "Look how cool this is though, little village makes you want to leave everything… but anyway we’re talking business now". Gave me a good laugh 😆.

To go on a full summit expedition id say it costs ~60k on average, with the price increasing because of permit price increase I made a video a week or so ago outlining all my costs . To my guiding expedition i paid ~75k, then theres about 10k+ in tips to porters sherpas staff etc Thats just rough average. Some companies ive seen 125k+, others less than 50! Hope this helps

I guess there are 2 sides to the debate - tourism is the cash-cow, by far, for the country of Nepal. Climbing Everest is the most famous "reason" for going to Nepal, but there are probably 1000 trekkers for every Everest climber. In the end, it is up to the Nepalis to decide.

The Nepalese people and their government literally depend on this "really big negative impact" to feed their families and provide basic critical infrastructure. Literally anything modern human civilization does will have a negative impact on whatever we have built upon, including and especially the very digital device you typed this comment on. Doesn’t that weigh on your conscious?

@@RobboElRobbo So your phone, tablet, laptop, and computer were given to you for free of charge? Choosing to purchase items made by slave labor In horrendous conditions that also poison the environment during mining the necessary materials needed to manufacture said devices is also ultimately a “choice”. Basically unless you happen to be part of some uncontacted nomadic tribe, everything in every part of our everyday lives is taking a big crap on the environment and you can choose to live in a city and accept that fact or you can choose to move to a place where you live off the land. Unplugged and unconnected from technological advances of modern man. That is a choice, and the fact that you have time to take jabs at people on KZread and then defend yourself when called out for making those jabs tells me you didn’t wake up this morning and milk a cow and open a chicken coop to snag a couple eggs to have your breakfast today so maybe think about the hypocrisy of your comments before throwing stones.
