Spent a week in the beautiful Eua island in the Kingdom of Tonga. Currently in its infancy as a climbing destination, but its destined for big things. A small fraction of the rock there has been developed so far, with over 70 steep, featured limestone single and multipich sport routes mostly in the 18-24 range. And on rest days you can swim with whales in the tropical ocean....what more could you need?? After a big cyclone and a volcanic eruption and associated tsunami over the last few years, the tourist industry is just starting to recover , but Tonga is still very much a remote and adventurous climbing destination.
