just explaining some features you saw 2:02 - most of those pieces of furniture are kneelers - they assist the priests or whoever is praying to kneel and for them to set the service book on 2:08 - that's called the font, it's where people are baptised 2:49 - judging from the mitre (the hat) carved into it, that may well have been the bishop's chair, if he ever went to service there 3:57 - nah, that is done at a table beside the altar called the 'credence table'. normally there is a safe or cupboard of some sort near the altar, and the bread and wine are kept in there. that room would probably have been the 'Vestry', where the priest or choir dressed into their robes 5:12 - that used to be the 'ringing room', where the rope for the bell was located. there are still videos on youtube of it being rung

The bell in this tower weighs over a ton, it's in the key of E and it was cast in 1897 by Taylor's of Loughborough (which is still casting bells today) Here's a few videos of it ringing: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c6J_0JSDqZjfiNY.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/moiIspqhmMLKg6w.html

Yes it's a crazy place, we have tried a while back. Sadly there was security on site and it was covered in CCTV. Perhaps we'll try again in the future..

You are trespassing. Keep out of places where you do not belong: you should not be there! It seems to be the way the riff-raff waste their time these days, doing far more harm than good.

It’s our history, culture and heritage. Us “riff raff” contrary to popular belief actually want to know about our past. I also trust you are the same kind of person saying we are “always on the streets” or “always on our video games”. Well what do you want us to do. We do this because it means something in a time where people like yourself say “the young people of today don’t even like or country and don’t know what it was like in my day” yet when we try to learn you say we don’t belong there. We know it’s illegal but that church has been closed since 2013, I used to go there every Sunday. Now all I can do is look out of my window at it. We’re not idiots, we know we need to be careful and we take a risk. Are you telling me you didn’t take a risk in your day?
