Via Ferrata Redovan Spain Alicante is a formidable climb up a shear rock face. Via Ferrata means Iron Path in Spanish and is constructed using reinforced steel bars simply bent into steps then attached to the cliff face. The climber then uses their climbing equipment to attach themselves to a series of cables hanging from the face incase of a slip you would only fall the distance to the previous clipping point, just don't forget to clip on! This climb reaches dizzying heights of 280 mtrs where the climber can span the gap between two peaks via a cable footbridge suspended nearly 950 ft above the ground. It is not for the faint hearted. Mid way is the swing to transfer the climber from one path to the next. A particular scary part to watch while filming our friend.
Alicia tried the lower section but suddenly realised the head for heights required was more than she could stand. She did far better than Kev who didn't manage to get off the ground at all! Wimp!
The climber:
The climber in the video, Nigel, volunteered to scale the Via Ferrata in Redovan while we filmed him. He is a great friend of ours with years of climbing experience behind him. Being a little crazy and no fear of heights is an obvious advantage as he nipped up this section in around 1 hour, very impressive. He has also completed the trek to Everest base camp and has many photos dotted around his house of him dangling from rocks which make me giddy to just look at!

All filming was completed using our Dji Mavic Air 2 drone by us and we were strategically placed at various points of the climb so we could capture the footage without breaking any height restriction laws.
