Clifford T Ward...The Best Is Yet To Come....

From the 'Both Of Us' album one of the most ..if not the most ..beautiful songs ever for a variety of reasons not least the sentiment contained therein and how the melancholic rhythm of the melody is ..in my opnion...akin to a prayer. It's just so beautiful. Possibly my favourite.
This is a video montage of my interpretation depicting as close to the sentiments as I see them. Feel free to comment.Enjoy and lose yourself in the flow....
This is especially compiled for my friend Cass... :)

What did we do wrong?
We had all the magic to put us on our way
And all the tragedy that we ever wanna see
But you know I'm right
When I say the best is yet to come.
Where did we go wrong?
Was it so enlightening we couldn't find our way?
Was it all so frightening we really couldn't see which move to make?
But you know I'm right
When I say the best is yet to come.
An' if you leave me now
Like you say you might
Oh please don't leave me now
'Cause I know, if you do
None of this will come true - so . .
Where do we go now?
Now your heart is achin' and leading you astray
And me I'm burnin' up, tryin' to get you to stay
'Cos you know I'm right
When I say the best is yet to come
And you know the best is still to come.

Possibly the greatest song ever written by anybody, and sung with such sincerity that even old cynics (!) are moved by it. The song set me on a rewarding journey of re-discovery of this man's talent. Thanks for sharing.

Usually in a song, there is one killer line, one line which stands head & shoulders above all the rest. But I have just listened to this song four times in a row & quite honestly, every line is perfect, just perfect. What a legacy Clifford left us all. One day I hope that he gets the recognition he truly deserves. Thank you for posting this & making many peoples lives just a bit richer.
