Click and Sample playback setup for wireless In-Ear Monitors

A brief video demonstrating the setup of an in-ear monitoring system for listening to click and sample playback from a laptop.
Signal Chain: Laptop - DI boxes - console - in-ear system.
In this video I use a 6' 3.5mm (1/8") stereo to mono 1/4" Y cable (link below) from my laptop's headphone output to a pair of DI boxes, then into the console. I used a 6' TRS cable to connect from the console's Aux 1 output to the Mono input of my wireless transmitter (MiPro MI-808).
To hear the click in your ears, but not in the main mix - Leave the fader for the click all the way down on the mixer. Make sure the AUX send is a pre-fader variety (with the PRE/POST switch), and make sure the channel is not muted, then you can turn up the click in an Aux bus, and then hear the click by connecting a monitor (or in-ear monitor) to the mixer's Aux output.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Plug your equipment in to a power source, make sure it is all on.
2. Wire your equipment in to and out of the console.
3. Check that the AUX master volumes are up to at least 75%, depending on your console, there is usually a hash-mark.
4. Adjust the input from your microphones and sampler/playback device, etc. Use the PFL button to visually confirm the presence of signal.
5. Use an AUX that is PRE FADER in order to properly setup a monitor / in-ear mix. Some consoles have a switch on some AUXes, so set it to PRE (POST will be dependent on fader position, which is good for reverb and effects, but bad for monitor mixes).
6. Make sure you in-ear monitor transmitter is set up properly.
7. Adjust the level of your inputs to the correct AUX bus and verify that the in-ear transmitter is receiving signal.
8. Put in your earbuds, and adjust the mix to suite by using the AUX knob you chose.
I'll have a review of the MiPro MI-808 in a future video.

Amazing explanation. I want to start using in-ear monitors with my band for rehearsing and live shows. I'm no audio expert so this really helps.

Thang Lian Cin there is no way you can add more than 6 aux mixes with your console. You can add more in-ear receivers, if you don't mind hearing the same mix.

Thang Lian Cin you can send the main mix to your ears, for a very simple monitor mix. Or, you can use the left or mono channel to go to the PA, and then use the right channel for your ears, and set the levels using the pan knobs.
