not sure if it feels like a step back hiring a first timer. rangers got bochy and went from worst to first. astros brought in dusty baker to get it done. guards may be in limbo with a rookie skipper with a middle of the road team. hope im wrong and vogt can push this core while the front office pulls out their wallet to sign some outfielders who can hit above their weight to compliment. i want the guardians to win so bad.. but after the hargrove / wedge / francona regimes failing to get it done.. we are so frustrated as fans who have been so close yet so far away.

When the A's get approval to relocate to Vegas, my favorite team will change over to be the Guardians. Stephen should dress as an umpire every so often like he did with the A's. That'll shake things up. You're getting one of my favorite players as manager. Wish Stephen & the Guardians the best.

I am a massive baseball fan stuck in a town painted Brown and Orange. After studying the intricacies of baseball politics, financial aspects, affordability relative to probable success, I've grown to like learning instead of complaining about not getting the player I want as a fan. Stephen seems like a fine person, but this baseball team being one of the most secretive in all of MLB, what do I know? Many good-hearted people have managed and failed. There have been men of lesser character that have succeeded. Considered the fact that there are no guarantees is the understatement of the year, give me the non-variable of finding a manager with a solid heart. I don't know anyone in the organization. I was cut all four years trying out in highschool 😂. I'm excited to see how our players react with Stephen and vice versa. Pretty amazing that one of the weakest divisions in baseball represented the AL in the WS 3 straight years from 14-16. I root for all 3 teams, but this baseball team is at the top. I'm almost 50, and remember the Browns making the playoffs 5 straight years from 85 to 89. In a sport with no hard salary cap, I am happy with how hard our kids play. Looking forward to February. My expectations are are non-existent. I have no goals. Why would I? I'm not a part of the organization, so I am devoid of responsibility. All I can do is watch and talk about the team over beers. We'll see🤷

Why would they go with a man who has never done this job before? Money, as in less? Tito was Filet Minon while Vogt is like a veggie burger right now, I've never had a VB and I don't want to either. The Dolans' are cheap as hell and we are seeing another example of it now with this choice. The Dolans need to sell this team to someone WILLING to put money where it's needed!

I'm kind of surprised that the INDIANS hired a 1st time manager to lead our Tribe, especially with guys like Jon Maddon,Don Mattingly and Joe Girardi available, and we can't forget about former INDIANS infielder Ron Washington being available until a couple days ago, someone with managerial experience and World Series winning experience, but I'll give Steven Vogt a chance to prove himself, now the INDIANS need to go out and sign a power hitter or 2 , maybe make an offer to Shohei Ohtani, but the Dolan's are too MOTHERF'ING cheap for anything like that, the sooner David Blitzer takes over ownership of the team the better GO INDIANS 👍 Congratulations to Steven Vogt on becoming the 45th manager of the Cleveland Indians

clueless boomer rant. "Jon Maddon," Girardi, and Mattingly are unemployed for a reason....Mattingly and Girardi because they are proven mediocre managers, and Maddon because he is a solid manager but also an obnoxious dude who wears out his welcome with teams.
