    We no longer get over 70 years of expert Mexican quality robust craftsmanship because cry babies, who don’t train in a sweat, buy cheap digital scales and denounce quality by how lightly things measure. I really hope Cleto Reyes continue to produce their traditional gloves as perhaps a “Classic” series. Please pass this request on. If they do, the weight weiners might shut up when the balance books actually show actual practitioners still prefer the better made - they are heavier because they are better - gloves.

    Very informative video, thank you. i noticed that cleto reyes are smaller compared to other gloves. Indeed, in your vidoe you copmpare 16oz cleto reyes and 14oz winning. Is this difference in size normal? my weight is around 75kg (165 lbs) and i am a beginner in boxing... i usually use 14oz gloves... if i buy cleto reyes, should i go for 16oz?

    At the time of the video we only had 14 oz winnings.. but Every brand will fit different because they all use different molds and type of padding, the best way is to try them on at the shop but Reyes do fit snug and padding is firm at the beginning but they do get softer and more comfortable with use. According to your weight, 14oz should fit you.

    I just got a pair of Reyes 16oz, both weight exactly the same (16oz). Anyway, I wanted a pair of 14s which I ordered, but it turns out the hand compartment comes significantly reduced compared to the 16s, like my hands feel cramped in really bad, and that’s bare hands no wraps. Even the 16s feel extremely tight with hand wraps on, no wraps on the 16s and they feel great, but I’d really want to wrap my hands. Well, that’s my recent experience with Reyes, don’t buy by glove weight cause they get smaller and smaller, go by your weight and height as told by their size chart on their website. I’m 5’7 snd 80kg, 16oz is what their chart indicates will fit me, but I just don’t get why can’t I get 12s or 14s for different training purposes. However, they feel great (without hand wraps 🙄)

    These blue Reyes look different. Did they change the color of the blue?

    Hi, Cleto Reyes only offer one blue glove but some gloves come different shades of blue...maybe because they use different lather tanneries some come gloves come lighter and some come darker. The same thing happens on the metallic gold, silver and purples gloves...

    The logos on reyes are applied with heat , not printed and they can flake off over time. Counterfeit gloves will have screen printer logo on them. You can also contact reyes to verify authenticity and always buy from reputable dealers.

    Fly Superlace X and Phenom Sg-210 are great gloves at 200 dollars and stand close to winning in performance and quality. But Winning is Winning regardless

    Thanks for the comment, we haven't tried the fly super lace yet but the phenom Elites do have an amazing fit and are comparable to winning in term of fitment and padding in both SG202 & SG210 but with winnings have impeccable craftsmanship and have the reputation to back it up.

    Are velcro gloves better than lace up gloves?

  • @msmfightshopmiami

    @msmfightshopmiami

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi, Thanks for your question. Velcro gloves are not necessarily better than lace but it depends on what works better for your purpose.. Velcro gloves are more convenient to put on and remove by yourself, but the strap adds more weight and bulk to the glove, also the velcro may scratch your opponent if not properly fasten and the velcro can wear out over time. On the other hand, lace up gloves can give you a more snug fit on your wrist with less bulk but you need someone to lace them up making them less convenient for everyday use...Hope this answers your question.

    Which is better Hayabusa Laced up gloves or this Cleto Reyes Gloves?

  • @msmfightshopmiami

    @msmfightshopmiami

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey thanks for the question. What model in lace from hayabusa are you talking about, they have a couple? Is it the winning clone gloves? if it's that model we were not very impressed with the padding, they felt a bit mushy. In that case we would prefer the reyes lace ups...

    Which is better in order between Winning, Cleto reyes, Grant, Everlast and Rival in your opinion ?

    Hey, thanks for the comment. All the brands you mentioned make good quality products, but are It all depends on what you're looking for in a glove, for Bag work or sparring, how they fit your hands and your budget. If you're looking for good quality mexican style with hard latex padding go with reyes. Winning is much more comfortable and offer softer padding and better hand protection than reyes but its double the price of reyes and much more difficult to get because they are not mass produced like other companies. Everlast has a lot of low end models that are not pro quality but the MX or Elites offer good value & quality for the Money. Rival also has entry level gloves that are average, but the high end lines have more innovative materials and designs like the RS1, Rs100, RS11V & guerreros that are very comfortable but with a lot more padding and heavy graphics and design. Grant on the other hand are the most expensive gloves on the market starting at $400 up to $2000+ for customs made. Quality wise we don't find them to be much better or more comfortable than reyes or winning for training but they are more of are a status symbol (like Gucci or LV but of boxing). Grant Gloves offer unique styling, and are hand made in Mexico in small batched and they are also VERY difficult to find and alot of counterfeits are on the market. From Grant we only like the fight gloves as they offer good hand protection with minimal padding and good power transfer in Pro fights.Our Favorite Gloves would be #1 Winning Laceup, #2 Phenom Elites SG202, #3 Rival RS11v or Rs100...

    We've sold winning for over 10 years, we have not seen a drop in quality or craftsmanship. the only issue we have seen is with the white leather that it more delicate and peels easy on the thumb area...
