Cleo’s and Nana Mouskouri ‘s interpretation of this song my life long favs . Been a fan of Cleo since her recording Streets of London I heard early 70s and her recording of Porgy and Bess with Ray Charles . The best of them all who have sung that music .

Streets of London was very popular. It was the song that I found her with . Her concert in Melbourne was like no other . I let the place on on a huge high.

Cleo Laine was played when my parents were in their 20's on reel to reel tape. Thank god I was receptive and love Dame Laine. Lea Rosier

Even though Dame Cleo Laine has a four octave range it has always been the beauty of her tone and the way she sings that made her one of the great jazz singes of the twentieth century .

I agree even at the most extreme notes, she sounds perfect . I saw her in 76 , when she had had a couple of hits. One of the most memorable concerts of my life . The power of her voice was just amazing. She has something very special .

For my taste, this is without question the best version. The lp from which this comes, is one of the best.

I've been looking for this for a long time. All I could find was the Joni Mitchell version, which is too slow. Thanks for uploading!

Please please please could you or someone upload the full album that this song comes from please....her lighter (less jazz) discography has never really been reissued as far as I know and yet these more pop/ easy listening songs are quite underrated and actually superb renderings of the original versions! She did some other stunning songs like a cover of Stevie Wonder’s All in Love I’d Fair and a beautiful Killing Me Softly With His Song, other excellent covers include Make It With You, Streets of London, Send in the Clowns, Slow Motion, Rainy Day Man, and more.

Verse 1] Rows and floes of angel hair And ice cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere I've looked at clouds that way [Verse 2] But now they only block the sun They rain and snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way [Refrain 1] I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow It's cloud illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all [Verse 3] Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels The dizzy dancing way you feel As every fairy tale comes real I've looked at love that way [Verse 4] But now it's just another show You leave 'em laughing when you go And if you care, don't let them know Don't give yourself away [Refrain 2] I've looked at love from both sides now From give and take, and still somehow It's love's illusions I recall I really don't know love at all [Verse 5] Tears and fears and feeling proud To say "I love you" right out loud Dreams and schemes and circus crowds I've looked at life that way [Verse 6] But now old friends are acting strange They shake their heads, they say I've changed, well something's lost, but something's gained In living every day [Refrain 3] I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life At all [Refrain 4] I've looked at life from both sides now From up and down and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life At
