Ole skool is cool back in the days when farmers brought in young bulls under each arm too be de-hornd....had the pleasure of driving the 135..168..188 multiple power a 240 and a pair of 390's farmer I worked for tough as old boots..tillage and spuds ..we had barley and sugar beat season's too..cold in them tarpoling cabs in the 168 and 188..which was my favourite..she pulled them 390's out of some mucky fields and trenches. When you're uncertain go for a Perkins because massy's are classy🚜💞🚜👌🚜👍🚜✌️

There are two types of Rushes. One that thrives on wet and therefore poorly drained land. And the other is called Poverty Rushes, these grow on acidic land which has suffered from bad husbandry in other words never been mucked properly, limed and never had any weed control. Rushes only grow when land is neglected to a greater or lesser extent.

78mikehayes Same here, can't get rid of them. There's rushes in fields where there never was a rush.

@@diarmuidoc9427 It sounds like you have poverty rushes and poor drainage to me. Soil test your land and add lime as needed and do some drainage. Rushes if mown before they flower can be dried like hay and used for bedding instead of straw. But avoid cutting when they have flowered or you will end up with seeds going back onto your land.

Jondingle said it cut them in august if you can get on the land chop them again before Christmas or graze sheep on the land if you are into spraying in springtime do it just knock them back with cutting or sheep til the grass can dominate them again and the fertiliser and lime gets workin try not to let them dominate they fine for bedding even some say in seed if it is really deep and the heat kill the seed and that is the best fertiliser to put back on farmyard manure
