Clearing A Few Things Up - FAC Revocation & Allegations Of Corruption

Спорт

I had hoped that running again for UKPSA Treasurer would start on a more positive note, yet due to unfounded allegations of corruption and false statements about my suitability to hold a FAC, I need to clear a few things up.

    It's incredible how much drama this sport seems to create. You'd hope range owners and businesses with a vested interest in this sport would do their best to grow it rather than push people out.

    You'll be getting my vote - well done for being so diplomatic and professional to the allegations made against you. John has a terrible reputation, even at his own club. Nothing more than a horrific human being. If it's not making him money, getting attention or empire building he's not interested. After watching his video, it's clear he wants your role (or to lead the entire UKPSA). I'm not saying the UKPSA is perfect, it's not... But if John had anything to do with it, I and a lot of others would leave. He's toxic, bitter and immature. Shame you can't both just got for a pint and realise you're actually on the same page, trying to grow the sport. Once again, well done Callum. Wishing you the best for the vote, FAC and furthering the sport in the UK.

    Thanks wadders, appreciate the support! I have tried extending the olive branch over the years, being supportive and positive about the facilities that have been built, but it's thrown back every time. Honestly hand on heart I wouldn't hesitate to meet up for a drink and bury the hatchet.

    To everybody involved with running UKPSA I’d just like to say thank you. Sure I’m never going to break any records hell at the moment I can hardly walk so unless the stages are static.. but it gets me out of the house, I enjoy it and I appreciate all the hard work you guys from the RO’s to the ranges that host the matches to the stage designers. Thank you and keep up the good work.

    Callum, thanks for giving your side of the story in a clear and respectful manner. I'm not a UKPSA member but if the concerns mentioned in the other video were or are widely held, they should have discussed at the 2023 UKPSA AGM and certainly prior to your election as Treasurer. As they don't seem to have been mentioned then, it seems you are right to say they are just the product of one combative individual. When I was Hon. Treasurer of the AERE Harwell Rifle & Pistol Club, we bulk bought all sorts of ammo. Our members expected to be able to purchase ammo at club meetings and of course appreciated paying keen prices for it. Sometimes I bought these supplies from the NSRA shop at Bisley but one or two other local RFDs were also happy to sell to us at the same or even lower prices. As a club Treasurer, my main responsibilities were keeping good accounts, getting members to pay their subscriptions and ammo bills on time and maintaining stocks of ammo and paper targets. Members would have been upset if they turned up to shoot and could not do so, because we had run out of ammo or targets. I also had some input into the process for deciding other expenditures, but all such significant matters were sanctioned by full committee meetings. So, as you are willing to serve for a further year as UKPSA Treasurer, I hope that you are re-elected to that role and then enjoy providing a further year of service to that organisation.

    Apart from the lack of comms around the cartridge facility the majority of members I've explained it to don't have an issue, understand why it's done and then actually want to purchase them. The issue is that it has been presented to the members as fraud and favours for friends.

I really hope this situation clears up as soon as possible. I know that when you start becoming known and influential, you will start getting attacked. This is normal and expected. It’s a crazy world that you had your FAC taken off you in the first place. I am lucky as l now live in the USA as l do not have to worry about saying something positive about shooting and having my FAC taken off me. It’s quite clear why they will not allow you to get it back. I remember having to hand in my handguns in the UK thanks to the 1997 handgun ban. So l know how you must feel, keep speaking out and supporting the sports that you love.

Listening to your stream from an out siders point of view this sounds ridiculous. The ramblings of someone who has a vendetta against you. I don’t know who they are but from someone like myself knowing little what’s going on this feels like a vendetta. Which of course is ridiculous when everybody is supposed to be bigging up shooting to get more people involved. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this nonsense. Back in the early 1980s, a chip buttie was an inexpensive lunch time snack at my local pub. It comprised a large dinner plate, with a single slice of bread and margarine placed at the centre of the plate, then buried under a massive pile of chips. A deluxe version, the sausage and chip buttie, was also available and this upgrade involved the addition of a single sausage before the chips were piled on.

    Well ... Not to be a Colin Robinson, the energy vampire in What we do in the shadows, but although the term 'chip butty' is widely used in the north and in the Midlands I believe that the term 'chip bap' is more appropriate and reflects modern language because according to some sources the term 'butty' comes from butt (from butter) with the 'y' suffix to form a diminutive noun and meaning a slice of bread with butter and nowadays not everyone has butter on their bread. 😊

  • @derekp2674

    @derekp2674

    6 ай бұрын

    @@antonioadinolfi4052 Then again, "bap" refers to a particular type of bread roll. The chip butties I used to buy just used ordinary sliced bread... Given that both terms are in use, the suggestion that only one is correct is merely a false dichotomy. Other popular examples of this for YT gun channels are available and can be used to garner comments, for the benefit of the algorithm. For example, when serving as range officer, I would often sell members "a box of bullets" in response to their request for same.

  • @EnglishShooting

    Horse sized duck every time. 100 duck sized horses could easily consume by volume then kick and bite you away like duck sized piranha. Sure you would be able to immobilise many early on with full force kicks to the head but assuming a maximum 5:1 horse immobilising to kick ratio it would be a minimum of 20 concessive kicks, if they don’t surround you, and the chances are that you tire out. A horse sized duck on the other hand only has one means of a attack, the beak, assuming due to its size it’s no longer able to take flight and its a fight on the ground you would approach from the rear jump on to the back engaging into a headlock. Wait for the duck to pass out and claim victory, also ducks have a weakness for bread and can be easily distracted to ensure success.
