CLEARED INTO BRAVO: Navigating Las Vegas Airspace in a Sling TSi

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This week, watch as Matthew and Travis show you what it's like to navigate through the Las Vegas Bravo Airspace in the Sling TSi. They start off flying from Torrance (KTOA) to Henderson Executive (KHND). From Henderson, they navigate to North Las Vegas Airport (KVGT) through and around the Bravo airspace. Despite discussing and planning to use the published VFR Bravo transitions (from the Las Vegas TAC chart): the team ends up getting vectored through the Bravo Airspace instead. After Henderson, the team heads back South West through the Las Vegas Bravo Airspace and then has a beautiful sunset flight back to Torrance for a Night Landing.

You didn't get a tour. You got kicked around on the West side of the valley (there is always updrafts there if the wind is from the East or SouthEast. One day try flying out to the Grand Canyon first South of the area and instead of landing at Henderson, fly OVER Henderson and request a Reid flyover on the way to KVGT. That way you get to see the big airport and the strip from the air. Also, no one gets a 'route' you always get vectors and altitudes. And as long as you follow instructions tightly they will be happier with you. Make your requests short and to the point and do not read back every word the controller says, if you get a frequency or altitude or both, just say the frequency/altitude. Reid controllers are among the busiest in the world and they really do not like the little guys buzzing around or taking too long on the radio.

Nice video, quick question here though, how did you manage to descent through the clouds to 3500 without violating the weather minimums when you are on your way back to torrance?
