2011-2015 underground hip hop was absolutely different. Even the artists like pro era who were apart of that aren't making music today as genuine and sincere as they did in their teens. These type of songs were inspiration and part of my early teens

It’s a damn shame they didn’t the recognition they rightfully deserve. Too much talent that never go it’s light. I blame the area in which they dropped when all these mumble rappers and “lil” rappers started coming out the woodwork getting big off their antics and face tats n colored hair. Now all them Lil’s are nowhere to be found whereas stuff like this is timeless. Clear Soul Forces forever

But I just feel compelled to say that I completely disagree with the notion that in order for a hip hop song to be a 10/10 and among the best ever made it has to be 1. old or 2. made by a popular artist/group. In this case the song is neither. It just has all the makings of an all time classic. Beat. Flow. Lyrics. All the other intangibles. It’s all opinion anyway, but I stg if there was some objective metric this song would be very highly rated on that scale. It's widely available, just not hugely promoted. The culture goes in cycles. It's been through phases like it's in now. And every now and then stuff like this makes it's way back to the mainstream. You can't say "it's not so available" when 2 of the biggest hip hop artists in the world: J Cole and Kendrick make music with similar levels of lyricism and insight and sell millions of records.

Kelly Geiger I'm 41. Discovered this a while back. Great stuff. Take a look at Chris Rivers (Big Pun's son) Corey Gunz (Peter Gunz' kid) and A-f-r-o. There's still hope out there. Just gotta dig around.

A letter from Brazil: The year was 2012, I was a little lost in what to do with my life. I was wearing my ink-smeared pants, I was and still am a young lover of hip hop culture, with the popular dream of knowing the birthplace of rap. There I was with 17 or 16 years old, preparing my equipment, to go to the streets to sign my tags, with my baggy clothes, and that was one of the sounds that marked my life.

I am more impressed with this than anybody in hip hop right now. I bet they listen to the early 90's rhymes. Lyricism and the back and forth is on point. This is perfect this is hip hop.

Jason Gora Yep. The young audience today doesn't respect talent or originality. They look up to ignorance and immaturity. It's the reason rappers such as Chief Keef and Soulja Boy have careers.
