Yes. especially of the simple workers who lost their lives in this tragedy ( Possibly Avoidable ) seems such a monetary loss of money but for some, it's even more of a tragedy. The loss of family members, brothers, fathers, and also to their wives... Like most tragic events the timeline chain of events that allowed it has to be studied and learned from. This will again change our perspective on the cut-throat idea of quick fast and making a buck at the expense of safety. So many tragedies have that in common...

That shot of the front of the Deli really illustrated the amount of weight on the front . The nose down attitude is extreme. Clearing the containers is only for work space and safety. I dought their weight is a factor , every little bit helps of course.

That's going to take months to clear. Then years most likely to replace the bridge. You have to wonder why where there no concrete bumpers on that side of the bridge, to keep something like this from happening. Oh well It is sad to see.

There are small ones (dolphins), stern is resting against one. Ship had the perfect angle for ramming. Bumpers were for 1970 sized ships

Wow, the bow looks to be sunk deeper with the removal of some of the containers. Maybe remove some of the containers from the stern to balance the ship.

No, you want as much weight as possible on the stern to lift the bow out of the mud as the bridge weight is removed

As usual. Nothing much is happening. A floating crane is moving around carrying no load. Almost all of the submerged main span is exactly where it was 3 weeks ago. About 3% of the wreckage has been hoisted and moved, and nobody has yet said that they have a plan as to how to lift a 4000 ton piece of bridge from the ship with a crane limited to 1000 tons. They have removed 100 containers from the ship, and about three major pieces of bridge wreckage from the river. For a "national priority" and a "24/7 operation", there is amazingly little going on. The newly opened channel is once again in part of the river where no wreckage fell and no wreckage needed to be lifted. Who are they kidding? Nobody viewing this can miss the fact that this site is not buzzing with activity, despite all the media reports to the contrary.

They have announced several times how they are going to split up that section into manageable pieces using . . . (Can’t type word or message will be auto-deleted). A lot more has been done than you think. You just need to watch/listen to Governor’s updates. Oh and the red and white crane at 13 minutes has a man lift basket attached, maneuvering personnel to specific spots. Just need to pay attention. Moving slowly and methodically is the reason there has not been a single injury to the salvage crews. They have a goal date, and looks to me like they will meet that goal. Not sure why you are so pessimistic. Lots of work happening away from cameras as well.

@@michaeljenner9906 How much maritime salvage experience do you think one needs to see that not much is happening? Suppose all my experience was washing dishes in a restaurant. I would still know that if you have very many dishes to wash, one could assign several teams to work at the same time at different locations. What I see here is one unloaded crane moving around in an area where several disconnected sections of wreckage are spread over about a kilometer of fallen span

These workers are shameless. The entire team hired for the cleanup should be fired and jailed for incompetence. The ship and debris looks exactly the same as ever. Lazy American workers working hourly like snails. At this rate it will take them 20 years to clean up. They should source this work to the Chinese who will get it done in no time.
