ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR MACHINE, TUBING, AND MASK FREQUENTLY! I'm a healthy enough middle aged man who just got pneumonia for the first time more than likely due to not having cleaned the tubing. I keot up on the reservoir and mask but neglected the tubing. DO NOT neglect proper cleaning of ALL parts of your machine, tubing, and mask! Now I take about a quarter cup of 91% rubbing alcohol and pour it into the reservoir with the rest of the reservoir being distilled water and run the mask till all the rubbing alcohol has completely been used up through the machine, tubing, and mask every week. Additionally, I use alcohol wipes to wipe down the inside of the mask and reservoir. Its the best way to clean your equipment without waiting on equipment to dry, especially the tubing, which will take forever to dry.

I have had my machine only for a week and only used it 5 hours in total and the air now smells stale from it... Seems the hose will need to be cleaned more often then 1 time every week...

This is all fine and dandy but the advice to allow the tubing that goes to the mask to dry is very naïve. I have 2 hoses and these things never dry. I submerge mine and allow it to drip after a rinse then I actually and gently swing the hose to get rid of some of the rinse water. I then hang it with one open end up and one open end down so the residual water could evaporate and escape..after 2 days in a warm place there was still water in the tube. Water can attract and grow bacteria. I'm doing something different, guys who clean the barrel of a rifle know what I mean when I say I'm going to snake it. I'm going to drop a sterile string down the tube and basically tie on a clean cloth to pull back through the hose...I wake every night from droplets of water getting in the mask..

I just imagine the old 90's Batman and Robin movie with joker and 2face... that one scene where Robin is swinging his socks... that's what I imagined you doing. Can the tube be cleaned with rubbing alcohol? I mean that stuff just evaporates into nothing. What about we design a universal adapter for hair dryers? I'm new to this so I have to ask. Thanks in advance.

Your humidity is probably too high , turn it a bit down cause the condensation builds up when it’s on a high heat setting, causing water in the tube.

But hey. she said no wipes. but those that the manufacturer sells in connection with purchase are they also harmful? Hopefully she means 3rd party wipes to be used for other purpose

How long does the tube take to dry? and it is worth having 2 tubes incase one doesn't dry in time when I need to use it?

My dad has one and I’m due to get one this week. I find they dry fairly quickly just hung over the washing line or if you have a clothes airier indoors. But I tend to hang the hose in a ventilated place over bathroom door hook to avoid any kind of bacteria buildup. As for drying time, I’d leave it to hang on the door from the morning to night, so probably the whole day to dry. Getting more than one tube is probably a good idea so at least you can have a clean tube each time

Can't you just hook the tube back up turn it on. And not connect to your face to air dry it?

@golanoski1 I dry out my tubing by letting the machine blow air through it after hanging it for a while and using a cpap cleaning brush to get the excess water out

@@twinsonic😂😂😂 thanks for that. I needed a laugh. In California I feel like there are third world countries with better access to healthcare and more sensible policies than California. I went a decade without healthcare just because of the stigma even though I was also unemployed and have qualified for it my entire adult life.

I think you guys have sleep doctors, you call them for advice. Or whoever controls the settings of your cpap machine.
