I've had to take most of my scrap in but I'm still trying to get the best value for it like my electric motor I'm getting 20 cents a pound and I have taken in 500 pounds so far and cleaned up a big space but it's scrap life thanks for sharing this with us six stars brother

yeah, it seams that I am always trying to clean up an area just to put more scrap into that area, it's an endless cycle
I just did 33 smaller copper motors, I found that the smaller square and round motors the Sawzall works well. But once you get into the thicker strand copper stators the grinder is needed. I still have 3 buckets of larger copper stator to do. 33 motors I've done is at 27 lbs of copper so far. #happyscrapping

it adds up fast, and copper is paying a good price now. Thanks for stopping by Walt
I got a 5 gallon bucket full of smaller motors that I need to get done, too! 👍

Thank you
I would use an air chisel. Or a hammer and chisel. Copper dust is not good, and the wheels gum up with the metal.
I gotta do this aswell
Great video

looks like about 112 miles.
I had the idea to use a hat hatchet instead of a machete to split those stators. Have you tried it yet? It just seems like a hatchet will hold up better and it can be hit a lot harder

I haven't tried that yet, may give it a try
I quit scrapping. The other day i took 150lbs of #2 copper in and got 8.5c per lbs .

How did you manage that? I would have taken it back home. Was it poorly burned wire?

@@richardmccann4815 they don't tell you the price dropped they take your copper first and the you have to go to the shack on the far end of the yard and you can't get you copper back . No it was clean and stripped.

that is a bad price, sorry to here you got the shaft from the yard, insulated wire should go for 50 cents a lb. always a good idea to call around before you go to sell it,

pretty bad when yards here are so picky, nitpick copper that it isnt worth the time to break motors down. Ive been actually told just bring motors whole. then again Im bringing 1000+ lbs of motors at a time

the yards need to supply a quality of product that their buyers want or the buyers will buy from someone else

nice, I miss the weather up there, I was born in Tacoma, and lived in Puyallup South hill during my teen years, then moved back to Tacoma as an adult, I was in Moses Lake when St Hellens erupted. then moved to Oklahoma
