I think it has something to do with the electronics. Normally, even if you don't physically clean the wand, you can reset the electronic counter by doing this procedure.

@@ProductUnboxingMore Hi I have same problem have done exactly as you did and the light come back on the very next coffee. Now and then if lights on it will complete the steam process but not often. Sometimes it will clear for weeks then come back and stay again. Nespresso have checked machine out twice and all they said was to descale it, and we do regularly. Any ideas? I think it’s faulty
