Cleaning Pool without Vacuuming

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a technique using a whirlpool action for cleaning your round pool. Works great to get all the trash in one spot to aid in collection. Use vacuum or skimmer net as shown in this video for a quick cleaning.

Thanks for the tip mate. I have already bought 2 automatic vaccum cleaners and none worked in my filter pump. I saw lots of vídeos, mostly brasilian, and saw a lot of "solutions" that, though being cheaper, weren t so easy. I m very glad i saw your video. Tomorrow i will try it in my pool. I think my kid will enjoy both walking around the pool and getting it clean. Thanks

Oh my gosh!! We do this all the time for exercise and fun with the grandkids. Our pool is always clean when we’re in it because my husband is a freak about vacuuming it, what seems like, ALL the time. When we are making the “whirlpool, I never see but a very small amount of debris collect to the center, so I never thought of making it the method to “vacuum”. Now my husband can put down the vacuum and just pick up the screen. Thanks for opening my eyes a little wider Paul 👍🏻😊🇺🇸 haha

We had 6 kids in our family...my parents showed us how to make this fun, super strong whirlpool and then told us it was time to get out because it could get really strong. Not until I got my own pool as an adult did I realize she was making us do her dirty work!! Haha! Now....I make my kids do it. Great video!!!

It doesn't replace vacuuming, that still needs to be done, this is just a in in-between clean up. If your pool has a filtration system all you need is a hose, vacuum head and pole and you can manually vacuum it. Here's a video showing this. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pIWCtLmYe8SeqtI.html

This works great I've been doing that for about 6 years. I also keep a smaller vacuum system which consists of a couple Shop-Vac wands and vacuum head with some sump pump hose. Only need enough hose to go past the middle of the pool. Best part is I can grab it while I'm in the pool and be done in a minute.

I have a small pool. I do the same thing too (netting it out) but my pump does the work for me. It naturally pushes piles in certain areas that I just net up. Don't even have to get in. :) I also take a brush on a pole and brush it daily to keep the slime down. Both processes are my meditation time/besides using the pool too. :)

The underwater currents must also be moving so make sure you kind of slide your feet across the bottom as you swirl the surface water. And turn your return nozzles all the way CCW (or clockwise depending on your rotation and skimmer inlet) and slightly down towards the bottom. These things are very effective, I've done this for years in my 18 x 33 oval and it still is effective, although the dirt settles in a different pattern on the bottom.

I have used this method as well in my 24’ round pool and it works for leaves and “specks” as he called it. It does not work for small amounts of D.E. filter sand that can settle on the bottom of the liner. The sand is too fine to be picked up by skimmer wands.

  • @shannonlane2508

    @shannonlane2508

    4 жыл бұрын

I'm not sure how fine DE filter sand is, but I had a big problem with my skimmer being too large to pick up thrips (tiny, tiny biting bugs) that had fallen into the pool. What I did was take a pair of nylon stockings and put either the waist or thigh part over the skimmer pole and just cut the rest of the stockings off. It helped a ton with getting the thrips (and a bunch of other seemingly microscopic debris) out of the water. But as I'm finishing this comment I'm realizing you are probably already using a vacuum for that anyway lol.

  • @royalbookshopper

I've been doing that for years. Started when my great nephs were little (they are teenagers now!), and we'd run around in circles in my 20'x4.5' pool. The crud would end up in the middle and I'd scoop it up, easy peasy. Beats the heck outta vacuuming, although once in a while I do that, also. I don't use the pool pump to vac. I have about 15' of pool hose, stick three shop vac extensions on it, make a siphon and siphon the crud off the bottom and have the other end of the hose discharge under my hazelnut tree. I'm pretty much chemical free in the pool, and the tree loves the little bit of dead bugs and cedar bits that blow in. :-) As as say to a friend who is always OCD about his pool (testing pH, vacuuming, adding this chemical and that chemical and still has a pool that's a PITA) --> "I own the pool, it doesn't own me". lol

Here's a link to a KZread vid. You can also just google "how to syphon out a pool", and I'm sure you'll find lots of other videos. I'm just one person and would have to hold my phone while I'm setting up the hose to syphon, so it's easier for you to do your own research. lol ... here's the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6qfqMGDfNCrmqQ.html

You are a keeper. Tell your wife shes a lucky gal, mine has passed away, but even when he was here he would not even hit a lick. Ive got a problem with pool dust from all the dead algae and shock . Soon as i turn this pool pump on its back in the water making it cloudy. Im about one fit from a straight jacket! So frustrating!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like you may need to clean your filters, or if you have a sand filter you may need to change your sand. If it's in your budget you may need your local pool company to get your water back in order.

@@PaulCape i have an above ground pool i keep up so my teens and grandchildren have a place to cool off hang out and keep safe under my wings ...no under currents to drag them out to sea no predators in the water or on the sandy shore and a clean place to go potty and delicious grub at the best food joint this side of the Pecos mountains lol and a willing and happy short order cook....ME! oh and every pool goer gets a hug and a towel and poolside waitress and fetcher to go grab pool toys or to help grab little ones out so mom and dad can swim in peace while i feed the kids lunch inside i fetch mom and dad their lunch and cocktails while the kids are eating their lunch and then i do crafts with the kids for an hour assess the need for a nap or a kid movie and rest time for them. But i cant do any of this due to this gosh darn silt ...its floating on top too. Idk what is going on. .I'm just gonna siphon it out i have a krstal clear pump and my pool is 4,800 gallons of water. I filled it last yr during the drought and got fined for using too much water i live in California..now I'm gonna run this water out. Ugh. Idk..I'm going to try and siphon out this silt by priming hose and leaving the suction end on the bottom of the pool and allowing the water to run out the other end rather than stirring it up. So frustrating i bought clarifier and floc and did a test run with 2 vases filled with the stirred up poolwater one vase i used the clarifier the other i used floc..the floc did nothing except make the cloudy water feel thick and the clarifier did nothing that a third vase showed same results i used nothing in the third vase...it settled to the bottom the same way the one with clarifier did. Useless. So trying the siphon method and if its impossible im just gonna empty it. Refill start over..5000 gallons of water isn't free. Holy crap, but i invested hundreds of dollars in chemicals it looks like a chemistry lab in my add on. Ridiculous ...dont wadte your money on flocs and clarifiers ...nonsense. i do wash my filter this stuff is just super fine.,.silt
