I've heard of people giving away PR to womens shelters! That could be a good option for items you don't think you'll use :)

Plant person here... so the "droopy one is called a rattlesnake plant, it is also known as a prayer plant because it opens during the day and closes at night to absorb light. It is a low light plant so it's not getting droopy, that's just how it lives! And for the ZZ plant, honestly those almost never need water. I water mine like every month and it's in terra cotta so super breathable pot. They also don't need much light.

Removing the brown leaves helps a lot for new growth! Plucking the brown leaves from the base of the plant is the best way to do it. 🌿

Love the video. DON'T water the ZZ plant as often as the others. It can go a loooong time without water. A good tip is to stick your finger in the soil to make sure it's dry before watering!

If there’s brown leaves at the bottom of the plant and new growth at the top, that means it’s getting rid of older leaves to use the energy to grow new ones

I really needed the message about operating in your capacity and not feeling guilty about it. My husband and I moved into our first home 3 months ago and I became pregnant 2 months ago! I've been feeling exhausted from the pregnancy and so sad that I'm not as productive as I used to be. I hardly have motivation and energy to wash the dishes, let alone deep clean and reorganize our new home. I normally would have the desire and energy to push through a whole home organization within a week and that's just not the case right now. Your words touched my heart and made me feel okay. The Rattlesnake Plant (the one with the dark stripes) does better with less watering -- let the soil dry out heteeen waterings. Also, it does fine in low light. The leaves move during the day, so they are supposed to be perky part of the day and droopy others! They are part of the prayer plant family, and thoae guys are known for their "dancing" leaves. So don't worry if she looks droopy sonetimes, she's supposed to! From the bit we see in the video, she looks happy and healthy to me!

i've had the opposite experience with my calatheas - the moment they get even a little dry, the instantly die. idk if it has to do with climate - i live in the desert so it's super dry where i am

@@MilesToGoGo Interesting. I was told to let them dry between waterings out and not over water them, and I have had great luck with mine watering once a week for a year now! The only time I've killed one was due to over watering. But, we get pretty even temperatures here in the Bay Area, so that might help

For nighttime skincare: maybe try adding a micell water cleanse after the face wipe with a cotton pad? It would help benefit getting your skin more clean from the days makeup/sunscreen. Otherwise, do what works for you! Something is def better than nothing

You should see if your area has a buy nothing group, it's the most eco friendly way to declutter! 🌱💚

The rattlesnake calathea is probably drooping because it’s thirsty! In general for your plants to thrive I would recommend taking the nursery pots out of the cover pots and letting water run through the nursery pot in either the sink or tub. Only put back in the cover pot once the nursery pot has drained completely (like 20 mins). Watering directly in the cover pot can cause water to settle in a puddle at the bottom leading to root rot. Water whenever the top couple inches of soil are dry - probably about every other week

Micellar water for the nightime removal, I drench my cotton pads with it and it gets off so much more than makeup remover wipes.

Thank you for this video, and what you said at the end about doing what you can do. I am currently sitting in my trash heap of a room, because I’m going through some burnout… which means I’ve had almost no energy to do anything. Watching this has inspired me to take the boxes that have been in here outside. I might add another task once I get going (probably laundry), but if I don’t, at least the boxes are out. Ok, you just solved one of my (granted very small, but important to me) issues I've been having! Lots of spicy brain over here and I've been trying really hard to dial in my habits, and skin care is something I've struggled with for literally years. Once i'm in bed and realize I forgot to do it...AGAIN..I just say meh whatever. But I just made a note to get a little basket to keep it by my bed! GENIUS!!!! Thank you!

It’s a hard life when you’re a person who loves having stuff around the house and showcasing personality in your styling, but is also messy lol Been battling myself my whole adult life with this problem. Love decluttering and organizing though it’s very therapeutic 🌺

I use the Planta app for watering notifications! Highly recommend 🙌

I have over 20 plants...and it helps me keep on schedule. Some plans like to be watered once a month others might be watered every like 4 days

One thing I learned recently about watering plants is not to use cold water. It can cause shock and damage to the plants, so try to use room temp water whenever possible!

I use those tiny acrylic drawer organizers to further organize my junk drawer like items. Love them for storing batteries, first aid kits, cords/chargers and other smaller items that would normally get just thrown in one drawe

Exactly what I needed to motivate me to organize my stuff ! There's just something about your vlogs, they're very comforting and inspiring. I love the Stardew, Animal Crossing and Cult of the lamb soundtracks for this episode.

Kennedy girl you've influenced me 😂 When I started watching your content I was a bit confused by your love of brown bc it's just a colour I never really went for in clothes and decor - and now I'm slowly transitioning from black being my go-to neutral in clothes to brown, haha. I was a fool, I was blind and you opened my eyes.

Tip for getting rid of the PR you or your friends aren't going to use: donate items to a local woman's shelter. Many people have to leave situations abruptly without being able to take those things, and we all know how expensive skincare is to replace. Just an idea! ✨

Ooooh I love the skincare bedside setup! That’s so smart! I get the same feeling about making minor adjustments to how something “should” be and making it work for you, so simple yet can be such a game changer! Micellar water came to mind instead of makeup wipes cause that’s what I see all the makeup girlies using. Also vanlifers/campers may have some cool tricks for this too since they don’t always have access to water.

I really appreciate this vlog. I love all your content, especially the cozy hobbies but it sometimes feels so unattainable for me to achieve the same aesthetic and feeling since I work full time so it was so lovely to see the other side of your life. The jam packed random drawers we all have, cleaning out the hairs clogging the hoover, cleaning up after pets. Made me realise youre still a normal person like us, putting off the icky or tedious tasks, showing only the fun parts of life. I just really needed to watch this today!

this! a ZZ plant really likes to dry out, so I typically bottom water for about 10 minutes, once a week. i would also just go ahead and pluck those yellow leaves; they could recover but you'll actually get more new growth if you just pluck them and let the plant focus on new leaves.

I am so similar with needing stuff out in the open to get used. Like I know there is lotion in the drawer but it won't ever get used unless I leave it on top of the bedside table. You might want to try CeraVe Micellar Water for a no rinse face cleanser.

Your zz plant (the one on your shelf that you told can grow to the sky) is a super hard to kill plant. They store water in rhizomes under the soil (they look like potatoes lol). I forgot that my zz existed for 6 whole months, no water no nothing, on the top of a bookshelf and she was like mkay... I guess I'm chilling for a bit. When I rediscovered and restarted watering her, she perked back up and started growing again. It was amazing. Anywho, yours looks happy, you're doing great!

At about the 39 minute mark of this video you said something that made me laugh so hard because there have been times I have made plans to be productive and get housework done and then an update in Disney Dreamlight Valley will drop or I will realize I only have a limited time to finish something in it and I have to work it into my plan. Keep being real girl I love it! Lol
