Andrea, I watch your videos all the time. My 5 kids are grown & gone. When they were young, there were a lot of things I didn't worry about.. if company was bold to lift my toaster they deserved to find what they were looking for - crumbs. I decided that I'd rather the kids remember I took them to the park than I scrubbed the floor every week. It's all about priorities.

I just v have to say, Cs. There is an older crowd, your age and ab9ve, that needs this! I'm only a few years older than you. People like me need these organising and cleaning videos! Without all of you infkuenxers, I would still be in the same state now that I was in a bit over 2 years ago. But thanks to you and everyone else I've been watching, I'm no longer depressed over tge state of my home. I am proud of the progress and slow and steady transformation that's taking place. I feel like I'm not doing it alone, and I'm seeing and experiencing the rewards that come with the progress. It keeps my momentum going.

I'm 58 & watching. I've thought about whether or not I could start now because of my age. Let's change the narrative. There's a lot of wisdom over 50 & a really great time of life. "Learn from people who've done already." Hmmm ... I'm Livin' the Best Life ... semi-retired, only child on his own, care partner for my entire family, do what I want ... declutter my entire house. I work to live. I no longer work to live in a huge, expensive home filled with "stuff" that won't fit in the u-haul behind the hearse. Thank you!

Cas, this was a great podcast. You covered so many topics that I just wanted to jump in and comment again and again. Andrea Jean is awesome, I was impressed with her background. Both of you talked about being so old….. just wait, you’re not. There is so much life and opportunity for creative content in every season of life. It just evolves and you don’t even notice it. I wish I knew about opportunities in KZread years ago. I have so much I could share. ADHD: you have no idea what it is until you raise a grandchild with clinical acute ADHD and clinical acute ODD (oppositional defiant disorder). What a roller coaster! I was on every principal’s speed dial! I often say I should write a book, but it would be more fun to just be a stand up comic and tell stories. I’m 76 years young, no Botox, just good moisturizers! I’ve decluttered, keep a tidy clean house, I never knew you could take apart the toilet to clean, until Andrea Jean showed me, and I have no plans to do it in the near future, unless I get truly motivated. I was a singe working mom/grandma for 50 continuous years, now reveling in empty nest. Both of you should recognize that you need and deserve household help. You talked about your grandmothers doing so much….. they did have help…. Neighbor girls hired to do chores, lots of daughters, etc. Remember the term “women’s work”? We’ll get scissors and cut it out of your dictionary! It doesn’t exist anymore!

I’m 80 years old and I like to watch normal people with normal homes. I know people who live in multi million dollar houses. I want to tell them to watch a couple of cleaning videos. Just because they have money and things, doesn’t mean that they know how to take care of them. And, they won’t hire help because they’d have to clean first, it’s crazy!

I recently got a different piece to store my jewelry because the previous was in bad condition. So I used the container method to determine how much I could keep. I donated lots of costume jewelry and a few nicer prices to Habitat for Humanity. (I laid the necklaces on Press & Seal and folded more Press & Seal over it to avoid tangles.) Soon after, I got a graduation announcement and suddenly realized I wish I had saved a pretty bracelet set to give to the graduate. So I drove myself over to Habitat and bought them back for $3, and I regret nothing. 😂

Self Help Junkies: That is ME!!!! I have a large number of you tube channels that I subscribe to and anyone that has an issue: I tell them which you tube channel to watch!! So, I work remotely and I am able to listen to a lot of these while I am working. It has made a big improvement in my life. I am trying so hard to change my habits and attitudes and every day I take a lick at it. What good decisions can I make today? When I look back in the past year, I have made so much progress in so many areas. And to quote possibly someone i dont remember; perhaps it is mine: Don't push recovery. Sometimes I will find myself in Frantic Manic trying to clean my whole house and end up in a couple of hours watching netflix. More accomplished a few minutes at a time.

Hi ladies, thank you for a great podcast! I listened to you while cleaning my carpets and floors etc.... 😨 and I am now officially exhausted 🥴. I had my Dofit watch around my wrist and checked after 24min and it said I already burnt 123 calories 💃.... and somehow I stopped the watch 🙄. Well, at least after more than an hour of working, listening, rewinding and listening again, I burnt 300cal!! That's the motivation I need! Recently off on early retirement, I still do all my homework myself. Now I can manage it just more easily. And while listening to you both supporting each other, I had this quick thought that maybe I can also start a page or something. We all have a story to tell and the ability to motivate other people when they are at a spot we've been already. I love books and thus have a mini library at home, LOVE IT! May you ALL have a very Merry Christmas! 🙏

I think its where I moved that has me in a downward spiral with different agencies inspecting elderly apts that I'm not used to which is annoying. I was thinking of investing in a once a month person to clean but I think I need more help decluttering/organizing. I clean the kitchen & bathroom which are necessary. I have done a lot of the decluttering in the spring/summer months. The winter months/seasonal affective disorder, I have no energy for the declutter/organizing.

Andrea, you must read We Are Not from Here by Jenny Sanchez. That novel will make you a better person. Cass, you should read it too. All people should read it, especially Teens who will change the future. Think about the goals that the characters have. What must they do to even try to get a snide closer to a goal? It’s a tragically beautiful novel that will touch your soul and make you want to DO something. --- who cares about age and looks. A beautiful soul and honesty and humor… that’s better than fake, insincere perfectionism. Love it when you laugh and Cass, you crack me up with your funny-crazy-pants sayings.

You are not lazy. ADHD does that. It comes with built in anxiety that prevents you from starting things. Took me 70 years to figure that out. For good information. Watch Meg Rollins podcasts about ADHD. And please!! Help another woman earn a living and hire her to clean!! Gail
