OK so here’s the thing if you’ve been watching my You Tube channel The Clay way you know that I do quite a bit of work on the 3.0 CRD Mercedes diesel’s and the intakes that they put inside Mercedes sprinter freightliner sprinter Dodge Sprinter Jeep grand Cherokee’s and even in some Chrysler 300s
So after buying about nine sets of these and over the course of many years and many hours I tried all sorts of different ways to clean them and to get them to function like new I had varying success with this procedure but could not ever get them to not revert back to the way that they were over a short period of time. I was “never” successful until now.
So now not only was I successful in making them function as good as new I know it’s sustainable and that these intakes will last!! I am also very proud to announce that I figured out a solution for installing them without the connecting bung falling out. I believe I may have made My intakes to where they could even last longer than OEM (this is unproven that’s why I use the verbiage that I use)
About all I can say not only are they cheaper than OEM they should last as long as new OEM so there’s certainly value there as well. And of course more than likely you will receive my intakes quicker than you would receive them ordering them off of eBay or from other parts suppliers at a much more affordable price.
Warranty:
The intakes are warranty for six month parts from the date of purchase with unlimited miles.
If the intakes go defective during the warranty period .you would remove the intakes ship them back to me at your cost. and I will either remanufacture them again along with also extending the warranty another six months with free return shipping included. Or refund The purchase price of the intakes (not including shipping cost) the discretion is up to me.
I cannot be responsible for damage that happens during installation or removal otherwise there is no warranty expressed or implied.
The process
The process is extremely simple you package up your intakes and you ship them to me.
Please include the year make and model along with the complete Vin number (for the warranty) Also so we can track the intakes over the number of years and keep a registry of us doing your intakes on your sprinter or whatever type of diesel 3.0 you own ..... this will also increase the value of your vehicle!!! And who doesn’t love that?
For a short period of time we’re also going to take any components that you would like cleaned and clean them for free. return shipping on these components is not free But is extremely Affordable meaning that if they. If there are three components in the box and the shipping is $30 (you the purchaser) would be responsible for $10 of the return shipping.

We will first inspect your intakes to make sure that they are repairable (99% of intakes are repairable) once we are 100% confident that we can repair your intakes we will except your payment there is no payment necessary until after the inspection process. We will however not return your intakes if you choose not to pay for your intakes to be rebuilt/remanufactured. We will not be responsible for lost or damaged products during shipping shipping insurance is available at $28 per thousand dollars worth of insurance.
If you pay the full price of return shipping I will certainly package them back up and ship them back to you. if you choose to have your defective intakes returned to you
Return shipping is included in the price of the intakes up to $20.00 usd. Per intake Purchaser is responsible for additional cost of shipping and or next day shipping. Most intakes can be shipped to most ZIP Codes for less than $40 so there should not be any additional shipping charges unless you choose to get insurance.
Also included: included in the price when you send us your Intakes (PAIR (2) Right and left) we include
installation brackets which make it simpler to install these intakes once they are completed. Some assembly may be required. We will also clean and pressurize your oil cooler. Free of charge except for the additional small cost of shipping. (Usually most people are sending right and left intakes and if shipping was $30 you would be responsible for $10 of it.)

I’m throwing a P2007. The CLE comes on and off constantly it will stay on maybe a few days to a month then one morning I will start my sprinter and it will stay off. I have some other codes every now and then. But that one is me worst. I’ll get my codes reader out tomorrow and send any others that might be on right now. Sense my light just came back on. Do you know or approximate how many miles this special butterfly flap coating (under normal driving conditions) lasts?
Clay, I have a 2007 WK with 120K miles that I just started getting the ETC warning light and P2015/P1270 codes. I am planning on fixing this the right way and have most of the engine pulled apart right now. I would like to know what sort of cost is involved with rebuilding my intakes; I dont see any references to cost other than shipping. Can you at least message me with a rough estimate? This is perfect timing for me as I need to make a decision on the intake RIGHT NOW and an estimate would help immensely. Thank you for the informative videos!

Hey Chris thanks for the kind words I greatly appreciate them and it’s very helpful when people like you consider things like this from me helps me keep the channel going. I don’t reference cost because sometimes cost change.they do come with a one-year 15,000 mile warranty. Which I might add is more than you get with new ones. Obviously they’re much cheaper than new ones but I want to see what happens over time before I have an exact set price for what I’m going to do I know it takes me about five hours to do each one now. why bother hooking up the swirl motor if we bypass it? can't we jus wire them open??

Not many comments on this subject?? People ignoring you? I’d like to know the cost of each item. What are you spraying inside them an on the swirl valves?? That’s if you give that out. 😜. 🤓clay, have you tried either a heat treat powder coat or maybe a ceramic coating like they use on a header? I’m not sure if that would chip or not. After that you could spray them with your secret sauce. That just might prevent them from ever coking up again. If that would work. I’m pretty sure it would still cost less than 2 brand new OEM. I’m not trying to change what you’re doing. I’m just asking questions. You might have already thought of these kind of things??

There will be no giving up of the secret formula!!!!! By the way the intakes are coded completely inside and out with my place solution stuff not just the valves But the intakes are only $275 each. Gasket kit is $199 Swirl motor is $199 Oil cooler cleaning is free And also any other parts that you want to ship along. Are free

The Clay Way thanks clay. That’s a great price. Have you any clue how long the turn around will take? I’m getting all my ducks in a row so I can just tear it down and ship them off. Mine is kind of a strange case. Everyone says they have over 125 to 150 thousand miles on their vans before they start having troubles with them. Mine started having problems around 40K and I’ve babied it to where it is. 66000 miles. I’m going to have to wait until this damn COVID-19 bull____t comes to an end. I’m really glad you considered to research this. I’m sure you will do very well with this. I understand the theory why you don’t want to give out your secret sauce. Can you tell us what or how you clean the intakes? While you were showing the intakes on this video I was thinking. Would it do any good to have the inside of the intakes Polished? Like they do on a race motor?

The Clay Way ok. My light came back on 2 days ago. Walk out get in my van start it up an low & behold it’s out again. Wacky wacky truck. I’ll put my diagnostic tool on it today. See what pops up if anything

Well let me put it to you this way I’ve got a $40,000 machine that cleans the intakes But cleaning them is only the beginning you have to physically dismantle them and then know how to put them back together so they function properly and are clocked And I’m not gonna give up any of my secrets I’ve spent hundreds of hours working on this problem and I think I deserve to be compensated for it not trying to sound rude but I give up thousands of secrets all the time this is just not one of them Turn around it’s going to be two days it takes about five hours to clean each one You’re talking about porting and polishing it would be so expensive deport and polish one of these you could buy for brand new ones for the cost to do one so that’s why I don’t offer that service. And in this application that’s unnecessary.

The Clay Way I’m not asking for any secrets. I’m just asking questions. I just had a pretty bad stroke. So when I get back up and running 🏃♀️ as hard as I was before. I’ll get ahold of you and get what I need. If you thought porting & polishing would do any good. I would just do that myself. I’ve been doing things like that since the early 60’s on my race cars I had. Thanks for spending so much time and money on R&D. That will save all of us money and make you some coin for your pocket.
2009 mercedes e320 swirl flap arm broke, i can get a new arm but how hard is it to replace.

Depends on if it broke on the swirl motor or if it broke on the intake. Did you break it trying to remove it? If it didn’t break when you were trying to remove it broke because the Intakes are locked up. And there’s nothing wrong with the swirl motor . If that’s the case not very easy but like I always say in any of my videos if anyone else can do it you can do it too that’s like a $5000 job at the dealership usually about $3000 here if the intakes have to come out not a simple job.

@@sharpcarco Broke the arm on the passenger side intake, i broke it due to the ball clip. How hard is it to fix with a new arm. It looks like i well have too press and glue it in? CAN YOU HELP...

Lol …. No offense but I made dozens of videos about the sprinters and this is one of the things that I actually can make money off of why would I give out that kind of information it’s like taking food off my table these videos make about 2/10 of a cent per view and I hardly doubt this one even does that well…. By the way I will tell you there’s absolutely no need to ever take the butterfly out…. That’s why my process is proprietary

New OEM oil cooler is only like $125? Why would no want to bother having it cleaned when I can just buy a new one?

Well because not everybody has thousands of dollars. Out in the world there’s haves and have Nots . When you’re paying somebody to do this job it’s thousands of dollars and every little bit‘s going to add up. And it’s just one of them little extra things that you give people it’s a piece of aluminum and generally doesn’t need to be replaced so it’s kind of a waste of money. Any wealthy person‘s going to tell you that it’s not the big cost that will make you go broke it’s the little ones we can always plan for large cost. But when you eat at McDonald’s three times a day it’s going to make you broke. So even though it’s only $125 for a brand new one it’s probably $125 wasted. Don’t take offense I’m not directing that at you I’m just telling you my perspective.

my jeep commander with the same engine has unstable idle and white smoke, once i pull an intake sensor it stabilizes, works well when the engine temps are in operating condition. you think the problem is with this system?

I’ve actually lowered the price since I started doing them because I found a quicker way that only takes me about four hours to do each one. So I’m still not giving prices out because I don’t want them in writing forever on my KZread channel so you can look me up on Clay’s AC and auto repair on the Facebook messenger and send me a private message and I’ll let you know it’s extremely affordable

🤔. .....
