Cleaning Kanpur - Episode 3 - The TrashBoom Barrier

This is the third out of seven episodes from our "Cleaning Kanpur" Series.
We invented a simple technology - The TrashBoom - which stops the vast majority of River Plastic before it can enter the ocean. Plastic Fischer's CTO Aviel explains you the details in this video.
Plastic Fischer is on a mission to clean the polluted rivers and drains in the city of Kanpur. We want to illustrate the situation of the city and take you on a journey of transformation.
You can take action and help cleaning Kanpur by fisching with us! Visit www.plasticfischer.com and become a Plastic Fischer!
For collaboration or interview requests, reach out to hello@plasticfischer.com and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
Thank you for spreading the word and supporting real social and environmental impact!

Thank you. I particularly loved the low tech and local solutions. That should be the approach to really make the whole process sustainable in each geography.

River debris trash booms are our best defense, keep up the good work. Nice design, looks expensive and time consuming to make but it does get the job done.

It is not. We invented the first version and improved the second one. It is actually cheaper and faster to build.

@@plasticfischerCheaper than used tires and Plastic bottles? Trash Kabooms even survived a level 3 Typhoon here in the Philippines. We all need to keep building river trash barriers until people wake up and realize just how important they are.

We are receiving support in form of permission and MRF construction. Private organizations and individuals support us monetary. In India, we address CSR budgets of large corporates, so please let us know if you can help us find more companies!

Haha! That is the conflict here. Unfortunately, most of the people do not invest 4 minutes into videos anymore. This is why we split the different parts in short episodes. Thank you for the support!

@@plasticfischerYou mean the video producers or the viewers? I'll happily watch 20 minute episodes on this kind of stuff. Another channel that does kind of similar stuff (restoring nature) is Mossy Earth, which also makes longer videos and they have an audience.

Where would you throw your waste if no one would pick it up for you? The people also need an alternative. Education and change of mindset is crucial too!

@@plasticfischer The piles of garbage on road sides & the trash that can be seen around in public areas in India clearly indicates people are just fine living with the filth around them . Japan's education system from a very young age instils moral values, civic sense & individual responsibility. The first few years in school the emphasis is on building character & values. The cleanliness in Japan & how the Japanese spectators cleaned up the Qatar stadium after Fifa World cup 2022 is evidence to the difference such Education makes. In India PM takes a broom to clean a public area to create public awareness of cleanliness. A temporary situation which has little lasting impact on people's lack of civic sense
