Cleaning Homebrew Equipment - My Method
A quick run through of my cleaning routine for brewday equipment. Cleaning and sanitation is a vital part of brewing if you want to avoid tainted or infected beers. This is the method that works for me but do let me know about your process or tips in the comments. Cheers!

There's something quite enjoyable about watching someone else doing the clean up.

its just reliving the pain for me lol
cheers for that. I find cracking a beer before starting cleanup really helps me get through it though lol

Why would anyone down vote a video, the guy has taken the time to make a video and show you how he cleans his gear ffs, some people just have to hate.

fuck the haters and thanks for your support bro cheers
Interesting how you do it, I do the same. Sometimes use food grade citric acid with warm water to get the stubborn stains out. Great insite in how you clean 👍🍻
I'll try that sodium percarbonate for my peco boiler and other parts too. Cheers 🍺🍻
My method is cold water and a brush. For harder mess warm water. For very hard mess, I take the nuclear bomb: caustic soda! This stuff terminates every mess! And if it isn't enough, I boil it in caustic soda! For sanitizing I use 70% ethanol sanitizer.
I'm hearing soap is a bad idea cuz it can leave stuff in there than can affect the head of the beer. I've been told to use PBW.

Soap is absolutely fine for cleaning as long as you rinse it off thoroughly, pbw is a much more effective cleaning agent but obviously a big price difference
Do I need to worry about NPT fittings: Disassemble and clean and reapply tape? And worry about water left in my wort chille
I think you need to swing by and show me exactly how you do it bud. Have plenty of dirty brew gear at the moment🤣🤣
Hi, I see you have a buffalo induction hob, I currently heat on a stovetop for 11L batches, it takes me around 45mins to heat ~13L to mash temp. Do you know how long it takes with buffalo to get up to mash temps for a given volume? Appreciate any info, thanks
Hey, quite interesting video! What "hose gun" are you using? Also what beer have you brewed? Cheers!

Thanks! It’s just a standard garden hose sprayer gun probably from b&q or somewhere similar. The beer was an APA with falconers flight and a couple of other hops added in, will be a video about it soon if it comes out well 👍🏻
Hi there I like your cleaning regime where did you purchase your mash tun and price thanks

I bought it second hand but I think it was from powell brewing or maybe brewbuilder originally
Hi Richard. Can I ask how you built your mash tun please? Was it through a specialist website or did you source all the parts yourself? I was wondering most about the false bottom? Also, do you heat your mash tun or does it hold its temperature well? Thanks and sorry to comment on an old video.

Hi Jamie, I bought the tun second hand but it’s originally from brewbuilder or maybe powell brewing can’t remember exactly which! The false bottom and everything came with it
