    I think ppl like cleaning cage videos because they are like those “most satisfying” videos. Also ppl want ideas about how to clean their own pet’s cage, like a technique you use that would be easier/faster/safer/etc.

    Seeing the orange and white mouse is kind of sad. I'm moving in with my older sister and since I'm flying I can't take my mouse. I will be able to still see pictures and when I visit where I am now I'll probably be able to visit him but he was my first mouse and it's gonna suck. She got three rats for us since I have to give him up but I'm gonna miss him. He is also a white and orange mouse :,)

    oh my gosh so story time: i went out of town and i had people taking care of my hamster and other pets at my house. well on the last day, i guess someone forgot to put the lid on my hamster cage. so my hamster hermione escaped, and after looking for her for two hours, she was in the damn mouse cage. the way she got in was the screen top on the cage was broken, and i guess she climbed onto the cage and then fell through the screen. nobody was injured though, i was sure she would’ve attacked my mouse!! i did a full health check on him and he is perfectly fine even acting normal. it was crazy.

    My sister is 5 and she left the hamster cage open one time, we have 5 dogs and a cat, we couldn't find it anywhere. we finally found it a WEEK later and it was perfectly fine and uninjured, I think it was eating the dog and cat food and drinking out of the cats water bowl because it is smaller than the dogs. but it is still alive and healthy.

    I think you did an awesome job and I love how you do things and you take really good care of your animals but the one thing I recommend is just taking you mice out of the cage (and your hamster if you don’t take them out I haven’t really got on that far into the video) but I would just take them out just so they don’t get hit with a big clump of shavings when you pout new shavings in and when you take them out so they don’t get scooped up on accident but that’s all I have to say. Great job with everything else though ❤️😁

    Why do you use a different type of bedding for your mice and what type is it?

  • @EmmaLynneSampson

    @EmmaLynneSampson

    6 жыл бұрын

    Kate Strong I use aspen for my mice for a few reasons!! Mouse make a lot of tunnels in their bedding, and aspen is really good at holding their burrows. I also find it to be better for odour control than paper bedding is. Lastly, the price! Hamsters only need to be cleaned monthly, where as mice need to be cleaned weekly so I go through a lot of bedding with my mice. Aspen is quite a lot cheaper than paper bedding, so it’s a lot more affordable when you have to do weekly changes :)

    Hey Emma I have a question. I’m getting a leopard gecko, a viper gecko, and a crested gecko through the next couple months. I was wondering if a 36x18x12 is good for a leopard gecko is ok for it? A 18x18x24 for the crested gecko? And a 12x12x12 for the viper gecko? Are all of those appropriate for the following geckos PS: I love your videos and I wish I could go to the program pet fest in the beginning of August it’s literally 2 days before my birthday and my parents said noooooooooooo

    If it’s possible try cleaning you mouse cage every two weeks. From my experience with keeping mice, if the cage is large enough with enough ventilation in both the cage and the room it’s shouldn’t smell all that much. You could also try mixing the aspen with wooden cat litter pellets. Mice don’t have great vision and travel mainly on scent. Cleaning a mouse’s cage too frequently can stress them out and in turn make them aggressive from stress and from being scared. This isn’t with all mice but most mice don’t smell that much with proper ventilation and bedding. But you are doing a fantastic job with caring for them. I love that name, Snacc. Honestly , it’s a personal preference, if you want to continue doing a weekly cage clean, go ahead but at least try to clean it every two weeks.

    I just found this channel and I love it! I'm a huge animal person, especially now that I'm older and some of the more 'scary' ones like snakes and insects don't bother me as much. So, that being said, I'm hoping that someone in this community can help me. I have four guinea pigs. My cousin bought one without her mom's permission that turned out to be pregnant, so we took two of them off of her hands because we knew we could care for them and I fell in love as soon as I saw them, but one of those had already mated with a male due to them not realizing they were at the age where separation was necessary, and she gave birth to two babies. We have two males and two females. I feel awful because the cage is huge for just one or two of them, but we're having to wall it off in the middle to separate them. As much as I love them, I'm on board with finding a new home for two because my mom doesn't want so many, and I want them to be happy. She wants to rehome the two females because they're less sanitary, but it's extremely important to me that I find someone I can trust to take them because one of those females was my first one and I desperately want her to be in a happy home with her daughter. We're having trouble deciding how we should rehome them and who we should give them to. No close family or friends are available like I had hoped for, and I told my mom that there's no way in hell we're putting them on Craigslist, so we're kind of at a loss for what to do. Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can find someone we can trust to give them a good home? Side note, I did recommend possibly getting them fixed so that we can keep them together and give them more space, but I don't know much about that, and we're really tight on money due to health expenses right now.

    the bars would be too far apart as is, but you can put hardware mesh around it to make it safe for them if you like :)

    Once a month. You don't have to do a full clean. Save 1/3 of the clean bedding and put it In Back so it smells still like your hamster.

    Katelyn Doyle CareFresh. Kaytee Clean and Cozy is better in my opinion because it’s softer and cheaper. Just make sure to not get scented beddings, cotton, pine, cedar, or clumping cat litter.
