Cleaning a Vintage Quilt TOP

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Cleaning a vintage quilt top, start to finish! The products I use in the water are sodium perborate, AKA Restoration or Retro Clean (link below), and a splash of household ammonia. This is a small amount of ammonia and you will never smell it. Rinses right out, but takes out odor, mold and mildew!

Old quilts are so fascinating. All the lovely and different fabrics that are used. It's like looking at a time capsule and it always makes me think about the people who made these quilt tops and wonder why they were not finished. I am looking forward to seeing how you quilt this. It's beautiful!

Such a great find ! ! I so agree, NEVER trust any red, especially antique fabric. Ask me how I know ! !

The link for restoration is a 2 pound tub. Where did you get the 10 pound tub? I searched Amazon for it but only see 2 pound tubs. Thanks.
