If his father and mother was as much of a guide as he seems like he was, he should be just fine. it doesn't take long for a good role model to be in one's life. At the end you just want to make them proud. And you will do everything you can to do what would make them proud.

Until recently, I was literally living on the other side of the planet (13-hour difference) from where all of my family and extended family live, and I did that for a bit over 6 years straight (visited twice during the holidays). In about a year, I'll try to move back to that place to move back with my 5-year boyfriend. I wish we could all live closer to each other, but that's life. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😔

You remind me of my grandpa. He was a painter and decorator by trade. Whenever he had a particular job, he’d have to cut through the cemetery. He always hated to see the babies’ graves neglected and uncared for. So he brought a little pot of gold paint and would redo the lettering so people would know the babies were there and wouldn’t be forgotten. ❤

My uncle passed away before I was born. He has been dead for almost 20 years now. My grandparents visit him often, and they have a tradition of pouring Coca Cola onto the grass in front of his gravestone because that was his favorite soda. His gravestone is well cared for, and seeing these videos makes me so happy knowing someone’s grave is looked after. I can’t imagine if my family stopped visiting him, and stopped tending to his gravestone. Even if she didn’t care, why do you feel the need to shit on people who are feeling touched and inspired by her video? Even if she didn’t care about the people buried, you have demonstrated a far more toxic personality yourself. My grandmother passed away when I was 9 years old in the early 1970’s. In searching for her grave online, I not only found her, but discovered that a kind person had cleaned her grave! I was able to thank them with all of my heart, and share pictures of her clean grave with our family. This restoration work is priceless to many families who may no longer reside in the original locations our beloved family members are buried in. Thank you so much for sharing this story.

When your actions inspire others to do something, are you not gaining fulfillment and satisfaction? Are you telling me that she is not fulfilled with and in what she is doing? Is she not enjoying it? Is she not deriving satisfaction in doing what she is doing? If the answer is yes! Then that is also a reward. Reward is not just money. The pleasure, satisfaction and happiness you derive from whatever you do are all intrinsic rewards you enjoy. They are the motivations that drive you to continue doing whatever you are doing.

There are many people that clean graves &do research on the decedant as a hobby. But watching this made me cringe. There are specific tools & cleaners to use on gravestones & memorial medallions so you don't damage the stone or porcelain. It looked like she was using a paint scraper & stiff bristled brush. I don't know what cleansers she used, but I'm not sure she used what's recommended for cleaning that type of granite/ porcelain. I genuinely hope she did research on grave cleaning & what to use. The only saving grace is that it was a newer headstone so any damage was hopefully minimal. If she did this to an older headstone she could have irreparably damaged it through inexperience & lack of knowledge. Source: I'm one of the people who does this as a hobby.

Watching this makes me so emotional. My grandmother recently passed, and it’s been really hard! The fact that you go out of your way to do something like this warms my heart, and it speaks volume. God bless.

Thank you for cleaning headstones that are forgotten. My son's Boy Scout Eagle project with 6 friends was cleaning 62 headstones in a forgotten pre civil war cemetery. Most were rough but 4 were white alabaster, they were incredibly white and beautiful. One man outlived 3 wives lying beside him

Please please please do your research on the proper way to clean gravestones before you do this. The way she's doing it & the products she's using can cause irreparable damage to the stones that will accelerate weather erosion & can actually end up with legal liability for you. A quick Google search will give you the proper methods for cleaning a gravesite without harm & with respect.
