hearing the instrumentals is an entirely different experience from listening to the original song.... contrary to popular opinion that this was a song with a bunch of unnecessary sound thrown together, it you can actually hear the great flow here even with the different beats and instruments

Indeed. I guess those opinions are made due to the mismatched vocal. In my opinion, SM seems to make their groups sing as a 'default' style, without any personal characteristics. It sometimes turns out nice like 'Ice Cream Cake', but often doesn't get along like 'Zimzalabim'

Couldn't agree more. I always thought the use of gamelan and a drum line was genius for the concept. I also love how they chose to break the usual pattern of verse, prechorus, chorus. I think it accompanies the lyrics about breaking out of monotony and routine and following your dreams really nicely. I love the use of gamelan too to create this illusion that they're casting a spell (Zimzalabim) on their listeners. The whole concept and execution is very creative and original in my opinion.

I don't know. I think the disjointed lyrics might have been intentional. It was intended to be a sort of creepy, unnatural feeling song. I dunno, I like it.

개인적인 생각이지만 에스엠이 끌지 않고(밴딩×) 또박또박 부르는 깔끔한 창법을 선호해서 그런지 엄청 개성적이고 독특한 음색은 찾기가 조금..힘든거 같기도 해요 ㅋㅋㅋ 밑에 댓글처럼 inst는 독특하게 느껴지는데(특히 짐살라빔 같은 비트)멤버들의 음색이 짐살라빔 비트처럼 독특한 스타일은 아니라 비트와 보컬이 정말 찰떡이라는 느낌은 들지 않는다고 해야할까요 ㅋㅋㅋ 어울리는 부분도 있는데 그렇지 않은 부분도 있어서..살짝 아쉽다는 생각이 들어요 그치만 브릿지는 정말 찰떡인거 같네요 ㅋㅋㅋ
