“Exit the King” is closer to a chypre than a floral aldehyde IMO. It’s not particularly heavy and quite gorgeous. I really like “I am Trash” it has a springtime, floral, freshness. I really love Parfums de Nicolai “Cap Neroli”, “Angelys Pear” and “Fig Tea” in the spring. From Chanel of course I love 5, 19 and 22. My first fragrance was C5 extrait. My dad brought a bottle back from Paris for me and a bottle of “l’Air du Temps” parfum for my sister. “Joy” is another huge, floral aldehyde that is astonishingly bold and fresh at the same time. Aldehydes are a favourite scent family for me. They seem a little old fashioned to some people but to me they often represent the most beautifully composed fragrances. I recently discovered Chanel No. 5 eau premiere, and it is one of my top three perfumes in my collection. The aldehydes are less prominent and the florals are very creamy. I absolutely love it!

I love soapy clean floral! One of my faves are Clean Reserve Blonde Rose. So clean, soapy and floral. Definitely, a pretty girl scent. I’ll have to break out my Prada La Femme. Haven’t worn it in a while. I also love J. Lo Glow, clean orange blossom cleanliness. Alfred Sung Shi and Jewel are two other oldies but goodies too. 😊

Twilly is soapy to me, with a base kinda similar-ish to Pure Poison 😊 I think some rose fragrances can feel soapy clean when they’re more on the literal side and mixed with a clean musk ❤ I also have a fragrance called Mahib by Adyan that gives me a clean, creamy floral feel. The way you described the Xerjoff makes me feel like I need it 😂😫 Wouldn’t that be cool to be a part of someone’s memory the way that lady lives in yours? I’m sure you are 🥰

I recently added Pure Poison to my collection & really hadn’t thought of it as a soapy scent - but it sure is comforting, sweet, lovely & beautiful. I like spraying my PJs with it before bed❤or on days I just need a little something ‘comforting’. Romance by RL used to be one of my favorite soapy clean scents. I used to love the clean zesty ginger opening. 🤍 Definitely get your nose on Esthero’s “Smells like Esthero” it’s a clean slightly woody clean musk. She makes all her fragrances by hand.

Hey Veronica! My mother in law was having a yard sale some time ago. And I spotted an Estee Lauder box that looked brand new. It was a White Linen body powder…with the pompom applicator. It has a very beautiful shimmer to it, and I completely ended up falling in love with the fragrance. I couldn't believe she was getting rid of it!! Guess one woman's trash is another's treasure. She ended up gifting it to me and I am so thankful. I love it so much that I am definitely going to order a bottle very soon!!!

Prada La Femme (the OG) is my absolute favorite frag for spring and summer. It is a Four Seasons' type shampoo. That beeswax x ylang-ylang is what does it. Another one which isn't mentioned here is Joop! Le Bain. JLB and PLF are my dressiest soapy frags and go with me wherever I travel.

Hi Veronica! Pikovaya Dama sounds like Chanel No.5 on steroids. The price tag is on steroids too… I love Pure Poison and I used up a bottle of it. Sadly, the current version doesn’t project on me. Now, to the big guns… White Linen… holy aldehydes! I have a bottle and I’m almost never in the mood for it. It’s soap in a bottle for me too. Nice but really challenging in my opinion. On another note, I just received Tuscany this morning. It’s gorgeous. It’s a fruitier, creamier, more floral version of Samsara. Woody, floral, powdery… so pretty. It’s been discontinued here in Europe. I believe it’s still available in the US.

Great fragrance list Veronica. My soapy fragrances are Twilly OG and Eau Ginger. Alexandre J Morning Muscs and Mancera Roses Greedy have that clean soap like smell to me. I had to go smell Alfred Sung Shi and Jewel after one of the ladies mentioned them and I can smell the soapy like scent. Thanks for sharing ❤

The only fragrance I know of that has a similar feel, but they are not the same, is Pure Honey by Kim Kardashian.

Love White Linen, wore it way back when and purchased a bottle not long ago. I have to say it's not quite the same as it used to be, feels kind of dialled down (maybe reformulated 🤷), the essence of it is still there but I don't think it has the lasting power it used to have imho.

People say a lot that No. 5 is soapy and I never got that. This was Mom's for special perfume and I never once thought of soap. Even now, smelling it I don't get it. I smell beast mode ambers. White Linen was our everyday scent, Mom, my sister and I. You're right, at the time it was the closest we could find to "fresh off the line" smell. We especially treasured this in January, deep snow and no Spring in sight, when the longing would hit. As soon as the Spring rains could be predicted by the clouds, we were hanging out clothes and our dryer said we hated it. LOL "Hustle, girls! We've gotta get those clothes in! I smell rain!" Drop everything and run.

I love soapy florals but I actually can’t stand Pure Poison or La Femme. Favourites in my collection are Amouage Dia W, YSL Rive Gauche, Byredo Blanche and of course No 5 (I have it in 4 variations, but somehow not the EDP!) Thanks for the video. Aldehydes are one of my favourite notes.

@@VeronicaSays I’m not sure if I’ve ever intentionally smelled it. I’ve had the Parfum for years and adore it. In the past few years I’ve picked up the L’Eau and Eau Premiere versions and fallen in love with those too. Just last winter I decided to treat myself and get a more classic version and decided to go for the EDT… the EDP evades me so far. I’ve *heard* it’s a little more 80’s in style and for that reason haven’t given it a fair chance, but I also know it’s their waiting for me as I fall further down the No 5 rabbit hole and as I continue down, the more it calls to me!

I also have Pure Poison but don’t reach for it often. Do you consider L’ Interdit to be in that same family? To me it smells a bit like Pure Poison. I have them both.
