How can this man be fired, honestly he was the reason why we tuned into the show because of Clayne. Damon was the co star of Claynes show. Clayne brought a lot of emotions, fun and laughter into the screen and Damon did the same thing every episode.

Saven Sharma, in the first few minutes of this video Clayne said he literally did not think it was possible to be fired. That mindset is outrageous, self-centered, and arrogance beyond reality supported. No one...NO ONE in this country immune from being fired no matter their position. For Clayne to believe he is immune from losing a job sets in a mindset he can behave in any manner without repercussion. LW, he also said, was his biggest break and yet he also said the decision makers told him he could do what he wanted. He NEEDED that job but he given complete control, and most people never heard of him before? That does not connect. Given Clayne's behavior required him to have babysitters of security guards so people could be safe around him made Clayne uninsurable. I liked him on LW, I really did but it comes down to this Clayne did not get fired. Clayne fired himself.

I'm a big lethal weapon fan, from the late 80's to now, I didn't think that the TV series would do the film's justice, but I was mistaken, Clayne brought so much rare talent that I am sure that Mr Gibson would have accommodated and applauded the actor playing this heroic character "Martin Rigg's", Clayne is what drew me to it, Clayne , without him there, only series 1 and 2 will sit on my DVD shelf, as you could invite the whole richard donner crew there, but it will not repair what has needlessly been done, End Of

I couldn't agree more. I loved the movies, and when I heard they were doing a TV series I thought it was a huge mistake. I thought for sure it would be a disaster. The only reason I checked it out at all was because Clayne was in it. I knew he was a good actor and was curious to see how he played Riggs. Needless to say, his portrayal was brilliant-even better than Gibson in many ways. I don't see how they think the show will work without him.

Would Clayne Crawford ever do that? I don't think so. Do I believe he hates wimen? I don't......But it doesn't look good in hollywood if you are compared to that one guy who beat up his wifey to many times wich was also part of him being fired. I have to admit, when I first heard that they were bringing this show to TV, I was very skeptical of any actor being able to pull off the iconic character that Mel Gibson had created in the movies. I was so skeptical that I refused to watch the show. Two years later my sister told me she watched it and loved it. So I thought I would give it a try. After a few episodes, I became attached. Clayne really impressed me with the emotional depth in his performance of a man troubled by the unimaginable death of his pregnant wife (never mind the demons he was fighting before he met her). One night my husband said he "read something somewhere" about one of the actors getting fired from the show. When I found out it was Clayne I couldn't believe it. Now knowing the awful way things were playing out behind the scenes makes Clayne's work on screen even more commendable. How do you carry on in such a toxic work environment??? Hats off to you Clayne. I hope to see you in new material in the future. And btw, Damon is no Danny Glover.

@@craigmckenzie5466 The way Clayne talks about it is a little severe, it's so personal and opinionated, if not entitled. Wayans wasn't put in studio appointed therapy. Facts. Did you know Wayans is 58 and Crawley is 40? Could you imagine being Damon and having this guy mock the shit out of you when you're just trying to work? There's having thick skin and then there's constantly tanning someone's hide, (albeit verbally) it can only last so long Honestly, it isn't normal for someone to get kicked off a show let alone somewhat derail it. I think Clayne created some amazing direction with the series. But if other actors can have their ideas integrated into a project without causing trouble, then one's got to wonder.. Mind you, Mel Gibson isn't exactly the man of the century is he, even though he's got buckets of looks and talent. *sigh Talented assholes. As for Damon, he said some intense shit about the Cosby controversy in recent years, but i can't find much to suggest that he's an ass to work with. Maybe he was too corny sometimes? Even so, he was an excellent Murtaugh. (Personally I don't think he was jealous of Clayne, but it is easy to make it look that way) Regardless, no-one else could have brought Riggs' role as much emotion and justice as Clayne. Riggs' death will go down in history as one of the most devistating on-screen deaths i ever saw

“I miss my girl.” That was the moment I fell in love with Clayne’s representation of Martin Riggs and became a diehard fan of the franchise. I’d never really been into the movies. It’s horrible to hear what he and the crew had to deal with and how poor there working conditions were. It makes the fact that we even got two seasons of gold to hold onto even more of a blessing. I love them, I love him and I look forward to seeing his future projects.

I hate to badmouth anyone, but I hear from my actor and writer friends that, while comedically brilliant and groundbreaking, and while being an absolutely fantastic actor and writer in his own right, Damon Wayans is absolutely horrible to work with. Apparently his antics are legendary and extremely narcissistic. Clayne--and Christian Kane, who he mentioned, interestingly enough--are both lovely men to work with. Take that for whatever it's worth. I'm not an actor or [screen] writer, but several of my friends and clients are, and I can totally back up what Clayne is saying. **As someone with a psychology education, who specializes in assisting folks to escape cluster be narcissistic, sociopathic and psychopathic relationships, I really respect Clayne's decision to come out and say 'hey, this toxic behavior is a full stop deal breaker, and I won't continue to enable it. When I heard about them making a series I instantly thought it was a stupid idea. When it came out I was curious because of Damon playing Murtaugh so I watched. My biggest concern and why I instantly dismissed it was Mel Gibson, he was so good and he made the films for me... What stands out the most from this interview is that Clayne thought exactly the same as what I thought, and probably a hell of a lot of other Lethal Weapon fans thought too. The fact that he realised that and tried his best to bring that character to screen (and absolutely nailed it in my opinion) meant the show did as well as it did. As soon as I found out he was fired from the show, I was out.

I said it the moment I saw Clayne’s first IG post about him being off the show: We will NOT be watching Lethal Weapon without Clayne Crawford! His portrayal of Riggs is what made the show any kind of success. Matter of fact, my husband and I almost didn’t watch because we can’t stand Damond Waynes. But we gave it a chance and I’m so glad we did. During the second half of the first season, our dear friend Ash Farley passed away suddenly at the age of 35. He left behind a wife and 7 kids. He was known for many great things but especially his mustache. Not only does Clayne look almost identical to Ash, but to then have a similar mustache...I say all of that because watching Clayne every Tuesday night was like getting to see Ash. Not to mention, just from following the little bit Clayne puts on social media...he’s just a great guy! Losing Clayne’s Riggs was a deal breaker for us on so many levels. And this KZread video just adds another confirming level! Thanks for putting this out there!

I’m not surprised that was improv from Clayne, I’ve been a fan of his for years and years. I can’t believe the show runner wanted to edit that out. That line was the epitome of Riggs. I was hooked from the moment Riggs slid against the wall. the dramatic moments were what kept me watching. the drama and tragedy of the character is why i loved the show. Murtaugh was good as the stable family man, but its the interaction he had with Riggs that made his character interesting. Now those elements are all gone. So now Wayans can have his fun but the show is gonna be another generic cop show with some goofy humor and lots of over the top action sequences. thats not the least bit watchable, thats like a Michael Bay movie. totally cringeworthy and disappointing. Martin Riggs was the lethal weapon. No Riggs means its not the same show. Clayne made the character and tone of the show what it is and what i enjoyed about it. They lost me as a viewer .To this day i’ll watch whatever clayne is in. I’ll never watch a FOX show again.

Everyone wants to blame Damon for this but WB is the one that's really responsible for this whole mess. The way they managed this whole situation is so unprofessional it's crazy! They should have straightened Damon out and kicked him to the curb if he continued to be a problem... His acting was painful at times, he would have been easily replaced and the show would have been as good or better without him.

I came to love the on-screen chemistry between all the characters through to the end of season 2, ultimately rivaling the original movies without replacing them. The series came to stand on its own and should be enjoyed by fans of the movies. This is rare series that captivated me. It is shame that it did not continue. Shame on whoever messed it up.

I don't really know the entire story, as we won't ever really, but truthfully, I am more geared towards believing him than the trash that came out of the rumor mill. I won't be watching that show without him and it was legitimately one of my new favorites!! It sucks, and I really hope he finds a new project!

First-sorry for my English, I'm French Canadian. Thank you for inviting your friend to speak the TRUTH and give his version and facts. There is always to side two a story. But I like Clayne's version way better :). Clayne - Thank you so much for opening up to us. You are an awesome actor. I discovered you on ''RECTIFY''.. and for those who did not watch that show yet, you should ;). Thank you also for explaining the true colours of the ''Hollywood world''. In my opinion, that you work on an Hollywood movie set or a construction site for what that matters, eveyone has a job to do and should show respect and professionalism to their coworkers. I think you were extremly patient with DIVA QUEEN Damon Waynes. Like you stated ''Lack Of Leadership- BIG TIME" from the executives. This will cost them a lot of money since the show will be cancelled. Not only you are a great actor but you are also professional and caring for the people who works with you. I'm happy that you are now the voice of the poor crew that was mistreated and can't even speak out, because of NDA's. I detected a HUGE PASSION in you when you spoke about DIRECTING episode 20. You should produce your own show, hire your own staff and use the social media platform to get the support of the public for a potential pilot. You are well connected now, and have the respect of every professional in the business. You should go for it !!! Use Netflix !! This is what everyone in your shoes did !!! :)Marie

There's one fan who appreciates Clayne's portrayal of Riggs because he himself felt the exact same pain - he lost his pregnant wife. I hope that Clayne finds out about this because of what he meant to that guy, and that the networks know that that's what they took away.
