    I liked how the original Clayfighter had such ridiculously small stakes; the fighters were just mutated carnival denizens who were battling to be ruler of the park. That was quaint and it fit with the parodic nature of the game. The sequels had their moments, but they failed to capture that simple charm that the first one had.

    Fun fact, peeps at Interplay were once interested in making a Forgotten Realms (Dungeons and Dragons) fighting game and the Fallout series' Deathclaw design comes from the clay model they had made of the Tarrasque. Source is the Fallout Bible by Chris Avellone when discussing the Deathclaw's design origins.

    @@Bklyn93 No, not at all. I used to think it had ties to Baldur's Gate - but I revisited the bible again recently, I can confirm that Chris doesn't hint at Gates and only makes direct reference to a Forgotten Realm fighting game idea in terms of the Deathclaw's clay model's origins.

    I was a loyal Clay Fighter Fanatic as a kid, only because I loved stop motion and would play through their poor games for hours just to see admire each wonderfully sculpted frame of animation. I never thought they were truly good games though. With the exception of C2: Judgement Clay. I loved the Terminator theme, and the design of the rabbit character, the new "bad dude" in town to take Frosty's place. Also this one had the best Frosty design and animations and he had a cool backwards cap. The controls were tighter and faster in this one too and I also liked the smaller character size. They should have included "claytalities" in this one, which we didn't get 'til part 3. Too little too late. It's abouit the worst one, even with all the new features. I thought the multi-colored pieces that flew from your body and bounced around were quite out of place, as were the flashes that constantly happened from punches and super moves.

    I wonder, is Jak 3 worth of a „Wha Happun“? I read that the development of the game was actually very troublesome and had a lot of problems surrounding it, which explains why gameplaywise Jak 3 is near identical to Jak 2 who actually did a 180 to Jak and Daxter.

  • @m.muradbasic4186

    @m.muradbasic4186

    @@MakoShiruba you might be right, but i always thought Lost Frontier and Jak X were self explainatory. Just like Crash, the game after the Trilogy would be a racing game and even thou the racing itself wasn’t great, the story was actually far better than Jak 3‘s story which was mediocre at best. And Lost Frontier was a PSP port to the PS2 and i think ND tried to see if the game could still sell because Uncharted came out 2 years prior and ND simply saw the buisness practice of a new, more profitable franchise on the next gen console snd Uncharted was a big success. So why spend people working on a series that run it‘s course? But Jak 3 was marketed as „the grand finale to the Trilogy“ and considering the gameplay was identical to Jak 2, Kiera and Samos had bareley any importance or even lines (to the point getting Ashley at the end) and a story that felt rather rushed, it will have a lot more to talk about. So i do think Jak 3 has some more stories than Jak X or Lost Frontier. But again, you might be right after all.

    The marketing campaign bit actually looked pretty brilliant for this game. Clearly trying to play on people's perception of those well-known properties and piggybacking off of their success... just like the game itself. It's both meta and clever. Also Matt your use of MvC2 music is *chef's kiss*. Love it.

    The whole 2015 remake promise and mention being developed by "someone that doesn't exist" is very shady, or gives the impression that it's all now managed by one person. I can only guess this was a bid to try and increase value in their company but why they can't just say "The series will not be returning in the forseeable future" Instead of a empty promise?
