Being in a *healthy* marriage for 23 years is. Also, much love to Clay's mom, but if she wants to be mad and take offense at anyone, she should do that with her son for airing her personal business out to the world. Humans are complex and so are the situations surrounding them. Based on what we SAW and what they SAID, these are our opinions. He speaks very well, but i still see something very off with him. His friends publicly bashing AD online is also a huge red flag. Why was he professing his love to AD post show yet his friends calling her a golddigger and such? And why did he tell AD he had the house all she had to do was move in, then say he didnt want a housewife? He's a slick talker just like his dad, and something is very off with both he and AD. And neither of these women did a good job interviewing amd digging deep or with follow up questions. Not only that, why not ask him about the multiple women saying they dated him recently but he said he's not available?

    I think he may have respect for AD and won't publicly bash her. That doesn't mean his friends won't. And a woman can move in, not pay bills, and still work. He could pay the bills and she could work and do the investing. He articulated he didn't see that hustler mindset that he was looking for. I saw a clip where AD said her ex boyfriend was the owner of the club too. So its not like he was throwing her under the bus. And you're assuming that the interviewers heard all of those Tik Tok rumors you brought up. They did a good job of keeping most of the questions within the frame of the show. Alot of people just watch the show and don't know about some of the conspiracy theories

    Definitely a man that was viewing AD as a narcissistic supply. He saw her as a business opportunity, someone to build him up and take care of him. He never speaks about her as a romantic interest. He’s definitely a salesman. He clearly was never ready for marriage and he could’ve said that from the start. Also the comment “my mother was married 23 years, AD wish”. Weren’t you the guy who was going to marry AD? Clearly, he thinks he’s the prize and he values women who get married, even if they are mistreated. “Bro code” as a reference to your dad. Also, AD’s comment about not wanting to be his mother was misconstrued. She meant, she doesn’t want to be mommy to a man. That’s my interpretation

    The goal is not only to be married forever, it’s also to be in a healthy marriage. Being married for a long time doesn’t really hold weight if the marriage wasn’t healthy. That’s like saying you survived 23 years with the same pain or wound. Yes you survived, but 23 years is a long time to be in pain. His mom said herself, “you had me, but you weren’t good to me.” They had a marriage, but it wasn’t a good one. It’s okay for AD to say she doesn’t want a bad marriage. She sold herself a certain way and he didn't get to see that once they got out the pods. She took all that time off to film so he never got to see how she moved in real life. That's apart of the experiment. To marry someone in 6 weeks you need to see what the reality of your relationship is gonna look like. AND something else no one is talking about... AD skated right through the part where we see where they live. We never saw how she was living. They went straight to Clays house and she was pretty much like, yep I can fit right on up in here. Yeah I got that. I think some generations and certain mindsets thinking you’re judging them as opposed to highlights or stating “I don’t want to be in the same position she was in or end up having to deal with similar pain and issues.” But I can see how that generation gets offended because they feel like I was doing everything I could to keep my family together etc, being strong for my family etc and it wasn’t enough. So it feels like a smack in the face when ppl say “I didn’t want to be like your mom/dad.”

  • @rachelle_banks

    @rachelle_banks

    4 ай бұрын

    @@precioussimoneinspiresYes that's understandable. I think I saw the whole narrative from his mom a little differently. Of course, we didn't really see everything she said but I felt like when she was speaking to his father at the end was the first time I even really heard her acknowledge that the infidelity was a thing for so long in it. I want to say here that not being any type of psychologist, we can see that clay definitely deals with anxiety and stuff like that. But there are other things going on there because I noticed that he will often parrot and paraphrase things that other people have said and if someone with greater influence comes along and says something different, all of a sudden that's his new philosophy on that matter. When he was in the room with his dad and discussing his father again, all of a sudden it was minimizing the wrongdoing his dad had done and just saying that he may have picked up a couple of bad things from his father. He would use terms like smooth and suave when really, his dad was self-involved and, at least initially, not even in touch with his wrongdoing. I mean we all saw that. Now anything he says positive about his parents marriage is pretty much the idea that he grabbed and ran with from AD's mother. I don't know. I don't really know any of these people of course. LOL. But yeah feeling like he broke a bro code with his dad and equating reporting that he was subjected to going along with certain things to snitching. He is pressed between being a people pleaser and floundering to find his own ideals. He's just learning himself. I hope he really continues to grow. Same for everyone involved with the show and all of us. That's life.

I do commercial real estate and I completely get his mentality. She claimed to be a successful real estate agent but hasn’t sold a house in at least two years so that’s just deceptive. He was trying to get an idea of what their actual day-to-day would be like in the real world and if she’s not working (she even said in an interview she was in he said he just wanted to see her work one day to see what her work/lifestyle is like) then either she’s not living her authentic lifestyle or she lied about her entrepreneurial work ethic. I think she’s a great woman, but I’m a hustler myself and I wouldn’t want a man if he lied about what his relationship with work was like and acted to just be a stay-at-home husband at the end of the day.
