Well, Ave Maria means blessed Mary, Jesus's mother here on earth so no matter what, it is a catholic song. It comes from the angel praising Mary announcing to her Jesus. From Luke 2 or 3. We Christians, pentecostals or Reformed we don't praise Mary. So it is a cool song.

The story is that Dimash called Igor and told him what he wants for Ave Maria. Igor worked on that and after 2 days, he called Dimash and after listened, Dimash said : This is what I wanted ! Dimash is completely into the song (into the prayer), he IS archangel Gabriel foretelling Maria she will be the mother of the son of God ... the song begins with the softness and tenderness to calm her down, not to be afraid of his amazing presence, then he proceeds to announce God's will (The Annunciation), that she will conceive his son, and unleashes all the power of his voice, and he goes to an overwhelming finale with the sadness of her child's destiny...

Je pense que l'idée de fond, était de toucher l'âme de chacun, sans se référer à aucune religion, mais faire honneur à toutes les mères du monde. On le comprend bien lorsque l'on réécoute cette hymne à la création dès le début, comme un écho intra-utérin de ce que l'enfant peut percevoir ... les bruts d'eau, les battements du coeur, les sons extérieurs confus assourdis, puis cette voix pure , unique. Oui, un chef d'oeuvre! Amicalement de France.

His so-subtle flick of the wrist at the end, coinciding with the so-subtle change in the lilt of the voice at the specific moment....just gets me every single time. The control. OMG! That soft note, holding it so long, and doing that, too. Jeepers.

Dimash is using his talent with a pure intent . Music can heal. This performance made me think of how would it feel like to enter heaven when my mortal life ends.

As always, great reaction and analysis. Dimash's rendition of "Ave Maria" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such a profound emotional response in me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered, and no matter how many times I have already watched it, I am still moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice. This was the final of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021 during his appearance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano. This is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria " 's opening vocals." Igor Krutoy composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. I read somewhere that the piece uses only three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note. Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals. Someone else likened it to "a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)!" Another “Dear” fittingly described Dimash’s performances like this: "Every time I hear this beautiful man sing, it feels like he punches a hole in my chest and holds my heart in his hands, holding it so gently, until he finishes singing. Then releases it and removes his hand from my chest, and I'm left with an empty, aching feeling which can only be filled by listening to him sing again! It's a beautifully tortured relationship with Dimash." Correct me if I am wrong, but the last note Diamsh sings is known as "Messa di Voce," the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most challenging vocal exercises, and voice experts regard it as the ultimate test for any singer, a skill even the most experienced vocalists rarely ever master. There are at least 11 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier.
