Diana Ankudinova is not a singer (in the sense of simple singing) - she tells a story with body and soul... and this with every song I have heard from her so far. Every time I listen to "Rechenka" (and see, I understand the meaning without being able to understand a word of Russian)), it overflows me with icy cold, I have goose bumps all over my body. ...maybe this extraordinary voice is the compensation for her so difficult childhood. In my opinion Diana is one of the best performers in the world at the moment. And my favorites are "Rechenka, Wicked Games and Deniere Danse" Especially this song has a touch of arabic music. I know this singing style and sounds from Turkey and Egypt - I love this music. Maybe you can hear the influence of Algeria (former French colony, I think) in this song ?!

These are different shows and TV channels. "The Voice Kids 4" (2017), "You are Super 2" (2018), "You are Super 3" (2019).

It's so easy to get a tad hyperbolic with Diana but in all honesty I'm not at all sure it's actually possible to over-praise her, she's that good. It's not just her dark, velvety captivating tones, nor her apparent effortless ability to glide up and down the registers, but also her fearless stage presence that she appears to have been born with. It's the whole package that's so, so good. And as if that wasn't enough when you see her interviewed it's hard to imagine a more humble, charming character. She truly is a cut above us mere mortals and thoroughly deserves all our praise and fandom.

Couldn't have written it better, although the "better or worse" thing somehow seems to be wrong, because this is far from how Diana thinks.

If you want to see something that Diana sang when, I believe she was 13, check out Me Voy kzread.info/dash/bejne/X22TxZefgNXXntI.html. She sings flamenco style in Spanish. You will be amazed by how she emotes and the quality of her voice even at such a young age. I think many in the audience during her performance don't know what to make of such a young girl singling like a mature and experienced adult.

Diana had a tough childhood but thanks to her foster mother Irina Ponik (you can see her on the video ) everything has changed for the better! So she can translate the soul of the songs and we can get all wonderful emotions! Thanks for your reaction! Like!

A Russian wedding custom was to sing sad songs (crying). That chased away evil spirits and should bring good luck. Igor Krutoy doesn't really work with Diana, he is not her sponsor or mentor (that says Diana in a interview few weeks ago). She only sings a song by him 'Tomorrow is a Lie' but he has enabled her to move to Moscow. He gave her an apartment, so that she could continue her vocal training with the best teachers and start studying after school. As I understand it, her Moscow fans gave her a home studio for her 17th birthday ... and now she's experimenting hard. There are great videos already.

One of my favorites from her. I don't know what she's saying but with good music it doesn't matter.

This is an old wedding ritual song, it's like a puzzle, it consists of phrases taken from ritual songs. First time I heard Diana, I thought of the famous French singer Edith Piaf with her low voice. One of my favorites was her performance of "Non, je ne regrette rien". Later I actually found a video of Diana singing the same song when she was 14 - kzread.info/dash/bejne/rId5waqsfNTUpLg.html - if you listen to both you can hear the similarities in their voices and I think Diana is actually a little bit better (Edith was much older in this video). I'm also amazed at her command of the different languages that she sings in, her English is very good and her french is almost flawless and she really seems to understands what's she's singing and not just learning the words.

She had two voice teachers a man and a female, she usually release at least one song every month, when she practice with them some unique tunes Diana modified them into her song, and there is a lot of connection between the family and the voice teachers and certainly they both hear it with the band and agree with any new adaptation also Igor as well. I think she is in the best hands.

@@SingerDadReacts Еще раз спасибо! кстати я давно убедился , что о голосе вообще никто не знает всего.. вокальные учителя , могут ПОМОЧЬ поставить голос и научить контролировать дыхание..ну немного знаний об анатомии голосовых связок и подсказать где гортань должна находиться в определенный момент и как расположить язык и губы , что бы звук проходил)))) а вот именно о голосе...НИЧЕГО!!! Голос у каждого уникален..можно подражать,..но вот точно воспроизвести...нет))) каждый уникален))...Странно ..кто то имеет густой бас.. или прекрасный баритон..но воть музыкального слуха нет.. или как в моем случае..слух есть..а вот голоса ..при раздаче передо мной закончился)))) и как жить??? петь то хочется)) Так что Вам повезло..и голос и слух)) я прослушал Ваши записи)) мне понравилось)) ...

Out of all the songs she tried, "Blizzard" always gets me when i listen to it (/watch?v=1_4lFqKM3GA). I think this song does her very deep female voice justice and it just sounds fantastic. It's just so very different from everything else you normally get to hear and it's a privilege being able to witness this little one doing her magic. And if you haven't hear about this before, let me be the one to tell you that Diana had a pretty rough early childhood. It's been a while since i've read about it so don't quote me on my words. But we are talking about parents that were abusive, her living in an orphanage and at some point in time she wasn't able to talk anymore. It's just heartwarming to see her defying everything negative life has thrown at her. She's not just an inspirational singer, her very existence alone is an inspiration.

She was singing from the age of 5 and plays as well if you watch her song at the age of ten you know how she was.

I've watched this reaction several times Josh and you mentioned your wife's musical background and i suspect you have shown her this performance and i'm curious as to her reaction to Diana here.

I don’t know if you have listened to her sing (Human) yet but you will be amazed, she seems to from what I can make out to possess most all the contralto abilities to some degree. Yes there are times when you hear several tones as if there was more than one person all at one time.

I think her first was a song called yodeling on another show, apparently it was fixed for someone to win and Diana didn't continue even though you could tell the judges and fan reaction made it obvious she should have. Almost seems she was brought to this show to showcase her.

He did this with several others, such as also Dimash,so he can stay free from being commercially abused like so many others. If you want to understand her contralto listen "Human" at this show,but next year's Super Season for winners, finalists and kids from very good musical college, she won in 2018, by the way in remaining order came "This is a man world's" and "Tomorrow never dies" in final ,I saw the links a woman or man gave you in a comment to them, and in 2019 when she was 15 and in final 16 already,she performed 3 songs, but every song is a banger(I think this is a word for something incredible,what puts a man or woman who did this in top, something like that🤔😁) So 1- Blizzard 2-Wicked games 3- Human. I see you still confused about her contralto,so make a pause in performance order and listen to Human, link I too seen here! By the way she is a total opposite to Dimash,you will hear why, 70% of Dimashes Russian fans,are fans of Diana.Somebody even made a clip about 2 aliens who came from planet Di&Di and saved the Earth.... Был период в ее жизни лет в 15-16 увлечение низкими нотами, за которые ее выделяли многие, она несколько подрастеряла высокие, конечно, мутации голоса тоже сказались, но и данное увлечение тоже сыграло свою роль, слава богу, она все же поняла свою ошибку и стала потихоньку исправлять положение, стала расширять высокую часть диапазона своего голоса. Будем надеяться, что она не увлечется материальной стороной карьеры певицы, станет звездой не только нашей эстрады, но, возможно, и мировой.

The story told by 'Rechenka' ... it's an old traditional folk tale about an orphaned girl who is supposed to marry someone she doesn't love, so she goes down to the river, the border between the living and the dead, to talk to her mother and ask for her advice. That weird, rough whispery voice is her mother asking why she isn't happy; the rest is her explaining her sad predicament. I have seen translations of the song, and I strongly suspect that there are aspects that are lost, translating it into English. BTW, her name is pronounced: Dee *ah* nah Ahnk oo *din* ohvah so you were pretty close!

She had a rough childhood at the very young age but I don't think she chooses songs because of that or it affects her because she has a lovely Mum and family as anyone can see since she was adopted at about 4 or so and taken care of ,she's always got the biggest smile you've ever seen and loves to perform even at the age of 5 . Nice reaction and comments. There are videos out there that show some of her work with her vocal coach which she has had all alone. Im not sure you are going to see Diana making and recording at the same rate as an Angelina or Dimash as she is focused on her education as well. I found it interesting while I was listening to one of her recent question and answer sessions that the song Human from this same show You Are Super is her most comfortable singing style and range. She mentioned she was more able to stretch her vocal range when she was 14/15 and just recently focusing more on her head voice as her natural tone drops. When you catch up a bit to her more current material you will see at 17 a change in the way she manipulates her voice. She always seems to be so relaxed and not under much strain in her neck.
