The first in my series of best record stores to find good classical records in L.A. Almost more of a flip through video to keep it short but more involved reviews and comparisons of some of the finds coming soon.

Thanks again from San Luis Obispo. I'm coming down this Sunday to do the Counterpoint back room again. I hope to see you sometime!
I just discovered your channel! good stuff!
Great finds! Even places like Goodwill and other thrift stores will keep records in the back so people they know can go through them first.
Nice picks!! Glad to see those Mozart concertos by A Grumiaux! His works on Bach, and his collaboration with Clara Haskil on Beethoven and Mozart are all precious. I love my Dutch Philips pressing of the Sibelius/Oistrakh very very much, maybe even more than the Heifetz on RCA Living Stereo.

@davidchan8108 Yes, the Oistrakh rendition is magic! I have the Philips pressing as well and I do like the Japanese re-issue better! I must have at least 10 versions of the Sibelius, being that He is undoubtedly my favorite composer and I also love violin concertos. A comparison will be coming soon. Right now I'm working through the Brahms concerto 1.

Can’t wait for your next video on Brahms 1st. If you ever do Sibelius violin concerto, I’d love to know how you like the Mullova/Ozawa performance.

@@davidchan8108 I never was able to find a good clean affordable copy! I've heard it but not on vinyl on my system, sadly. I just looked now and there's one copy in the U.S. VG+ for $150
I enjoyed the video, I'm curious to know what the average price you are paying. I realize it's variable but it would be helpful to know some prices to help us novices not overpay. Thanks!

That's the big question, right? something like this could be a template... 70's London, EMI postage stamp, red label phillips, Argo, $5-$20. Mercury plum label, Brittish Decca, London Blue back, Rca shaded dogs, $25-$50. Decca recorded living stereo, Red semi circle and magic note columbia, semi circle big dog HMV, $50ish. Blue silver columbia, cream and red HMV, Decca blue back, hundreds if not thousands.
