I think brett and eddy should stick to the instruments they're experts at. They look stupid when they try to criticize nonviolin players.

Jay Chou is a singer songwriter, that is famous for writing all his own music. He wrote the entire score for this movie too. Jay is a musician before he is an actor. Though he isn't Lang Lang or Yuja wang levels of virtuoso, he dominated asian pop with his distinct style of composition.

The point is, classical pianists only know the things in their classical world, they dont care or dont know much about the other things in the real world haha!!

Jay Chou is a living legend. Can't wait for his next album. Jay Chou is like the Chopin of modern pop music. Really hope he can release an album here in the U.S someday. Don't even care if it's not in English.

He’s had some exposure to the States, but not quite through an album. He had secondary roles in some movies, made a few movie theme songs, and even has a Netflix show

This movie is the reason why I learned piano 😭 my older friends and my brother were playing it more than 10 yrs ago 🥺 love this movie

Both actors actually really know how to play piano .

But at the same time, that doesnt mean the standard should be lowered:) he can be an all-rounder but hes not a specialist (it can be good or bad depends on the situation). So all im saying is that compared to other composers like lets say yu peng chen, hes alr. But jay chou definitely has really good songs that i like👍🏼

Jay is the best composer in Asia.

Huh?? No no no. I love Jay's songs but there are many many many great master composers in Asia. For example, Joe Hisaishi who composed tons of great music for studio Ghibli's movies etc. Jay isn't at that level.

The other guy is also a musician so not someone who learnt playing the piano for a role. They did this battle live on stage. The speed is real. Anything else can be attributed to not-so-great editing.

Well, not really actors...Actually, they are singers and they are very very good in various instruments. Jay Chou is one of the king of asia r&b/pop music.

Twoset should watch this video. They reacted to this piano battle scene over one year ago but could not tell if the piano playing is legit and asked pianists to tell them

I think I have watched this movie at least 10 times. I'm pretty sure I memorized the dialogue lol.

I would recommend a drama which called 交響情人夢. It's related to classical music and also fun to watch.

Aside from Mike Myers (which was really well done btw), the ghost of a woman with long dark hair and wearing white appears in the doorway behind Sara. Great editing!

not sure if you guys got this right or not but there is actually no voice over for this scene. the other guy is actually a great pianist and they both played the piano in real time when they filmed this. Also jay chou new song is out now and his album will be released on July 15 go listen to it please 👀.

If you did your research, you'll know the other guy(not Jay chou) is also a musician, who plays classical music just like Jay chou, and this is a movie directed by Jay Chou.

hope u can try the '四手聯彈' part. begin no musician, can't tell if their technique are good, but that's elegant and romantic, and so is the playing in this piano battle, for me/us who don't play piano, it's really good enough ❤️

The slower black keys etude is easier to appreciate if you're not familiar with classical music. That's how I felt before.

Sad to see keyboard playing has degraded to a shallow show-off of rapid, redundant, repeated notes! Try playing a Bach 5-part fugue! Real piano skills is about control and balance, not sheer speed.
