It's one of the finest progressive tracks you will ever hear, beautifully produced as well
3:37 Yes, that's the appropriate reaction. :D
This song is so heavy and filled with emotion. You can just drift off in it...🖤🧙♂

Hahhaha
I said it and I'll say it again, steven Wilson's production skills are on another level. That guitar tone (where you thought it's a piano) just mmm!! Warm hand picked(possibly hybrid picking), sounds abit like a gibson les paul. Mayb I'm just mumbling here but to me it's eargasm material

What makes that ending even more emotional besides the beautiful choice of tone on the guitar chords is the keyboard pad deep in the background, which adds the ethereal quality of a spirtual soul floating away.
One of the best Opeth outros .

@@PJAlphaMusic They go together, but the second was cut from the album for some reason or another. Both very beautiful songs.

@@PJAlphaMusic They're from the vinyl edition. Also 'Still Day Beneath the Sun' was an additional track from it. I had forgotten about that one. Here's a link to that one as well if you want to just listen on your own. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJqjk6qfcqzadcY.html It's 4 minutes & 32 seconds in length. It's a melancholy one for sure.
La canción más depresiva de opeth con diferencia , es impresionante cuan expresiva es esta canción

I felt that one!
The middle section of this one WAS(!) their style. Nowadays they're far more a progrock band. Also on very high level, but very different. You'll see/hear when you come to it. The style you're listening to now began with Still Life and a bit with My Arms Your Hearse (the album they released before Still Life) and ended after Watershed (my fave along with Still Life). Cheers.
