Classical Conversations Challenge (Tips for Parents)

If you have a child in a Classical Conversations Challenge Program, you know that keeping in touch with what is happening during the week and during community day can be a real challenge for parents.
Pun intended.
As a longtime CC Mom and Challenge Tutor, I have 3 TIPS TO HELP YOU STAY IN TOUCH with your Classical Conversations Challenge Student.
And, since one of the biggest challenges of planning for Challenge is that (unless community day is Friday) the first day of the week is not Monday.
So I’ve made planners specifically designed for Challenge students that begin on the first day of their week and end on community day...no matter when that is!
And yes, these planners can be used all the way from Challenge A - Challenge 4. Buy it once, use it forever!

How long do challenge students spend on their work daily?

Hi Jessica, great question! Typically the recommendation is to spend one hour per strand (subject) per day (in this case, that's 4 days a week). I have found with my own kids that this is roughly true, but that I definitely need to tailor that schedule to each kid and to each strand. Some strands are less work than others. Some kids work faster than others. Some of my kids needed motivating to get started and others would have worked all day to perfect every last detail. One thing that worked really well for us was to set an hour timer to help my kids learn to budget their time. Just remember, we don't work for the timer, though, it works for us (:

Are we teaching LTW, and Latin? Sounds almost like we just help them figure out how to do it on their own- but aren't we still teaching each class? Sorry, newbie here.
