When I remembered Rythian is colorblind it made a lot more sense why the colors he used where just a bit off. The green screen is the wrong shade of green, the enderman has blue eyes instead of purple 😅

That never really made sense to me. Like... If a colorblind person learns that the sky is blue, then even if they see blue as, say, red, then they'll affiliate red with blue, right?

@@dragex6582 it doesnt work like that. For them the difference between blue and purple for example can be like the difference between two shades of blue that are super similar to a 'normal' person. When next to each other there is a difference, but they are both the same color if you were to discribe them on their own. Does that make sense? Colourblindness also differs a lot person to person, so this doesnt aplly to everyone.

@@dragex6582yeah most colourblind people are colourblind in a part of the spectrum. So like, red colourblind or green yellow colourblind, combinations like that. As you may remember from primary school, all colours are combinations of the primary colours, and to colourblind people this means there is significantly less shades in a colour wheel. It’s hard to distinguish a yellow from a yellow-green if you’re green colourblind as an example. They’ll look very similar and be hard to tell apart.

I still remember having a 13" CRT before upgrading to a 20" CRT, then a 26" LCD, and now currently have a respectable 40" LED. I skipped over 32", but I agree that it's decidedly average.

Lewis around 2:40: I always like to do the grass, just to help settle me. I think lots of people find that "doing grass" helps them relax.

I read recently about aphantasic people who have been able to learn to see stuff in their heads. Some guy figured out a technique he calls "image streaming", and some people seem to believe it helped them.

Also, are there any objective tests of aphantasia? I hear about people asking, "Imagine an apple. How vivid? Is there color?" and so forth, but that seems easily skewed by understanding, belief, or e.g. motivation to exaggerate. Is there anything like, "Imagine drawing a line right, then down, then left, then up to connect with the first point; what shape is it?" or some harder ones, maybe a series of them.

@@pogusmaximus7162 Tell that to Glen Keane, oscar-winning Disney artist who designed Ariel and Beast. There's no reason not "seeing" something in your head means that you don't have an idea of how you want it to look. It's just that it may be more like a general vibe or maybe a word cloud before it gets to the paper.

Aphantasia has varying severities. As an aphantasiac myself, I can confirm that I don't see any pictures at all when I close my eyes. If you tell me to picture an apple, I can think of how I would describe an apple, but I get no pictures in my mind. If you asked me to describe what I see, I would just see blackness. From my understanding, most people can actually SEE the apple in their mind and would be able to give you some kind of detail. Some people just have a flat, grainy picture while some can actually rotate this "image" as though they were looking at a 3D model in Blender. At least, that's how I've had people describe imagining things to me before. The most I can do is just make a verbal description of what an apple might look like based on my perception and memory.

I can rotate the apple in blender in my mind, possibly picture the taste and texture of it as well so I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum to you. It's so curious how brains differ all the time.

Is having the memory not "seeing" the apple in your head? I feel like the visual representation would be remembering it. To me if I think apple. I can imagine what it looks like in my head and add details to it. It starts off kinda 2D, but I can add depth if I want to, look at it from different angles, imagine it with water slowly dripping down it. That kind of thing as long as I'm actively focusing on that task along with whatever I'm doing.

For me, it can be a bit like having a picture or video of an apple on a mental "second monitor". It doesn't have a physical position in relation to my field of view, though. It's like an entirely separate, more faint layer of perception. I can move the apple around and stuff, but if one were to try and reconstruct what this imaginary apple looks like based on the various angles I see, it probably wouldn't fit together right. I also get another "layer" rapidly switching between memories of encountering an apple, seeing an apple on TV, probably most of them warped into generic representations that don't actually match the events as they were when I formed the memory.

I can tell you what an apple looks like, and describe an apple I've seen before, but it goes purely from the description I have "saved" in my memory, which often won't have a lot of detail unless I make an effort to remember more. When I remember things or events or places I've been, I don't get images in my head. I more remember what I felt rather than what I saw. This is why whenever I go on vacation with family and what-not, I make sure pictures get taken so that I can have a visual representation to go with my memory. Or why when I play TTRPG's, I need visual representations of any important characters. Or why I have a very hard reading an action comic/manga versus watching a cartoon/anime; I can't imagine any motion in the panels of the printed medium, so it makes it hard to read for me.

I'd love to see them play this with builders wands, though I'm not sure how doable that would be.

I used to imagine full blown wars around me with mecha flying around , whenever I was returing about an hour by food from school. I would project the imagined image onto the real world. I've always known that people lack much of imagination , because they can't think of consequences , cannot imagine how others feel and can't visualize simple images.

i hope they never stop playing Minecraft on the main channel. doesnt matter what they do in game. i need them playing it

the only reason I passed orgo 2 was because I could create the sugar molecules in my head, and unfold and spin them around on cue, therefore becoming really good at drawing the molecules in different orientations, which was like 30% of the exams because nobody else could do that. cannot do redox reactions to save my life, though.

Well you can't have full sensory recall, but maybe you mean memory of the senses you felt? Personally, I have a vivid imagination so I can imagine things in full colour and shape and interact with or manipulate them in my head. I can imagine conversations with people while imagining the person being there. It's a little trippy sometimes.

@@georgehh2574 Yes. When I look back through memories, every sensation of that moment comes to me. Sight, sound, smell, just about every tactile sense, and even tastes or however my mouth felt in that moment. I have the same imaginative ability you've described too.

If you want to up your yogscast member building skills, instead of two blocks, dye leather armor and put it on an armor stand. Blue for ben, etc. Bit more options that 2 colors
