Definitely psychologically devastating, but also effective, one Ju-87 pilot, Rudel, flew over 2500 combat missions, destroyed over 463 Russian tanks... AND a ship before he was badly wounded and had his leg amputated. Proceeded to keep fighting and brought his tally up to around 500 tanks... And 11 confirmed air to air kills.

@@timonraccoon It really wasn't. The entire design of the plane was bad. It was slow. Poorly defended. And those equipped with sirens reported that it was incredibly annoying to fly when they were on.

Fun Fact: that sound in the real war was meant to create physological problems to the enemy to make them mad and panic, media overuses it

My great grandfather used to tell me stories of when he was a boy listening to this in an air raid shelter. The sound used to make the entire shelter shake and you could only pray that you weren't next. He used to call them howlers

It’s a such a perfect sound design for instilling fear. The anticipation of knowing and waiting. You know exactly when it’s going to strike. It’s like when your playing a horror game and you know you messed up, and see through the closet door or what ever you’re hiding it the thing chasing you run closer to you so the only thing to do it wait. Helpless.

Who else hears this sounds every time they think about war instead of the modern war jet noises?

It’s sad that polish soldiers are only known for surrendering so quickly but the polish were incredibly brave since they were being crushed between two giants, the Soviet Union and Germany and despite being 40:1 they fought on fiercely because they knew they’d be wiped out anyway, why not just take out as many as they could.

IF you want to terrify people with these sounds, Get your friends, And get loud big speakers, And buy some large RC Prop planes, And take the RC planes to the sky, And dive them, Then play the WW2 Prop plane dive, But you need a more realistic sound Prop plane, Which most RC prop planes have. But I don't recommend doing this if it's illegal.

Fact, the sound he make at 0:23 is the start where he start falling, like in the picture here it's for dropping a bomb, and the pilot had no other choice that drop it, cause if he didn't the bomb will be to heavy for the plane to get up again, so it will crache and explode, classic WW2 moment, a reminder that death ins't a number, it's people

Hearing the stuka siren keeps giving me goosebumps and even when I'm playing battlefield 5 they still give me goosebumps and I will slightly panic because when I hear that sound I know that SHIT'S BOUTA GET REAL

The TIE roar is actually an elephant call and a car drifting over wet pavement, both heavily processed. However, some of the flyby "wooshes" use elements of old aircraft recordings.
