Beautiful! You've inspired me to wear my white shirt, gray cashmere sweater, black trousers, camel coat, and cap-toe shoes to work tomorrow. Such a classic combination, and yet, not one that I frequently put together!

I completely agree with you on those oversized, frumpy stripe sweaters. Whoever thought the extra long sleeves was a good idea obviously does not use their hands during the day! It is clumpy looking and ill-fitted at best. Lets allow that fad to die!

I agree about the enormous striped sweater, they’re bulky, unflattering and impractical. I prefer mine more fitted, or at least, reasonably sized. As always, another great video!

You always come up with such classic and elegant combinations!

Houndstooth is one of my favorite patterns. My absolute favorite piece is a black/white houndstooth coat made out of a denim type material. I’ve had it so long that the liner now needs to be replaced because it’s so frayed. My other favorites are a matching long knit skirt & sweater set in camel/black houndstooth. It looks stunning as the set but also worn separately. I love to wear the sweater with black jeans, & short black boots. The sweater is long so I usually throw on a black belt as well to put a little more shape to the sweater…it’s too long & bulky to tuck into jeans or pants. It tucks fine into the skirt because of the elastic waist. Houndstooth is definitely one of my favorite classic patterns!

I am glad you mentioned navy blue with green color combo. The green needs to be the darker shade like the one you showed to work. I have a dark green pencil skirt, I pair it with a fitted and thin navy blue/or light grey sweater T-shirt , the combos look understated, but very pleasant for the eyes.

I don’t know why but sadly, I’m getting a little tired of striped jumpers. I always liked the classic Breton stripe but now, I see the look everywhere and once it’s in every store, it seems to become like a uniform and not very original.

Completely understand. Just recently I went to my Doctors surgery, there were 6 woman in there and every lady had a striped jumper on 😂 Had I not just put on a shirt over the stripe top I was wearing I would have been the 7th one in a stripe top!

I agree with you completely. I am a petite woman and the oversize sweaters don’t look good on me. I saw one at H&M and the extra small was absolutely huge. I’m just gonna have to let that pass. A few years ago Espress did V-neck sweaters with lace Cammies in the same color. I bought one in red and I wear it every year. I love your videos I always look forward to them. You get right to the point and you don’t do a lot of chitchat. I chitchat I mean explaining something to the 10th degree.😂🇺🇸

Hi there, thank you for your post. You are very good in explaining and giving ideas on how to use colors and mix and match to create an elegant look. I have just recently found your channel. And I can't tell you how much I have been struggling to find a style that works for me. I absolutely love the strong colors , but at a point I understood that those aren't useful if I'd want to look like an elegant lady. Been watching another channel of another lady, but I got so sad, and my confidence fell down even more. You are really showing very basic clothing at really affordable prices. I can't afford all the high designers prices. I'd wish you to show me or give me more ideas for how to look elegant with more vibrant colours. Thank you so much ❤️

Pretty outfits. I, personally, gave up on wearing black jeans. I guess the only way to keep the deep black color consistent, you have to dry clean them. I only dry clean blazers and coats at this point in my life. I've switched to black dress pants in straight and wide trouser styles and feel more comfortable. Wash and wear with no fading.

Primark do houndstooth and tweed style jackets. If you can't afford a coat or blazer, buy a scarf or handbag and wear with a camel, black, cream wool coat if you have one, to give it a way of a revival

I’m no expert, but I think turtle necks are tighter and more structured, while roller necks are more loose and relaxed.

Many years ago before fashion on KZread and the like 😆 a turtleneck was just a high neckline style, just like a turtles shell that it's little neck pops out of, (no fold/roll over) and a roll neck is just that, the neck part rolls over. Nowadays I often see roll neck jumpers being called turtlenecks. 😃 x

Love all your outfits. I don't like oversize sweaters (or oversize anything for that matter). Body skimming is much more flattering. I love striped sweaters and I have several with different designs of wide and narrow stripes.

I thought the rule was to wear no more than three colors at a time. Otherwise, your outfit is too busy? Your four color combos are quite nice . Of course, they are mostly neutrals and blend well.

I think the stripes are very unflattering.

Watched it to substitute black pants for jeans. I'd rather wear dark wash denim or black pants. Black jeans always look faded to me or too late 80s hair band rocker.

How about something for old ladies with stomachs and hips? Jeez!
