So true about the instrumental training, which is particularly helpful for a coloratura soprano (I'm also a clarinetist), and it really shows in your singing!

As a voice student i loved this interview, the insight it gave on the process of becoming a singer!

You know what? I'm in love with your singing. You are my 3rd favorite opera singer apart from Maria Callas and Leontyne Price.

And you have come such a long way since your Met roles, singing now so many leading roles in all the major houses of the world ! I love your Meyerbeers (hope you'll get to sing Robert le Diable on stage), and maybe one day Massenet's Esclarmonde ??? I was REALLY looking forward to hearing you in the Bastille Hamlet, forgetting that you were not cast for the last performance ! 😪 But I'll always remember the wonderful evenings you gave us at Garnier singing Konstanze. I was a stage crew on that show, and was very impressed !!! All the best, Lisette, for a marvellous career !!!

What a lovely relationship you had with your mom, Lisette! You echoed what I have always said of my mom -- my strictest critic. I do get a bit nervous, too, when she watches me in concert.

Lisette Oropesa Ohh myyy.. we have the same taste except for Scotto. Lol. She said negative things about Callas. I got turned off haha.

This woman plays a league of herself in every aspect. I think it's the first time in my life I'd like to be heterosexual, for a moment at least, in order to be able to appreciate her more deeply and accurately. I don't trust she will reach the place in opera she deserves (JS is still generally considered in 2019 a great singer, wich clearly indicates that something doesn't work properly in that world) but she is big. Trully big. Oropesa has it all.

The petty politics is what did me in. I just wasn't strong enough to fight back.

Yeah, she is a light lyric coloratura BUT her voice is not super high.
