    Thank you for the in depth review, im glad that at least when it comes to the price point they can provide a value option, its just interesting how the quality would be if they had sent one of their more premium fabrics, and if it is the same as in the suits shown, id agree with you hands down that services like lanieri and oliver wicks would be preferable :) how would you say they compare to suitsupply?

    I used this and others reviews to make my online purchase with studiosuits. My advice is to take screenshots of every question and selection made. Prepare an email and confirm that this is what you are getting. If you do not record and if there is an error during the production process you will have nothing to prove what you order. I received another design that I ordered. Their response was that they receive thousands of orders a day and that it is impossible for them to make a mistake. If not a refund, I expected a credit amount to re-order understanding that nonetheless they had incurred in expenses as well. There was no offer or reasoning.There is no guarantee. If a mistake is made you will lose your money unless you can prove what you bought and had confirmation before making the purchase.The experience left a bad taste.

    Hello SartorialStyles, thank you for this review, I appreciate how honest and informative it is, and think you have a well developed sense of style. I have never had a suit made for myself before and don't know how to go about it, but I am of the age and income now that I'd like to have my own suit made and have been mulling over studiosuits as an option. I like all of the customization options that studiosuits provides, and have not been able to find another custom suit service that provides as much customization as studiosuits. I also know that this suit will be tweed, and studiosuits seems to have, by far, the widest selection of tweed fabric I could find. My question for you is do you think I could find this level of customization and selection of tweed fabrics anywhere else? Do any other services compare that you know of? Price is not a factor, just fabric selection and customization options.

    The vest looks very long. This seems to be a problem with almost all modern brands in tailoring. Imo the vest should just cover a bit of the waistband of the trousers but never cover the pleats. This is one reason I like vintage. The proportions are so good with a short torso and high rise trousers.

    I just recieved my loro piana wool suit from studiosuits. They sent me a cheap suit which i paid $99 for just to get measurements correct before making my more expensive suit. Anyway, i got it tried it on. It wasnt too bad. I got notch lapels and they were slimmer than i hoped for and also the lapels dont want to lay flat. I did read some lapels dont lay flat because they may be handmade but idk how accurate that is. But i do like the fit. It has a classic fit but true to my measurements that i provided. So its not baggy and its not tight. Which is what i am looking for since everywhere seems to be slim fit for my size. I dont want slim fit suits even though im a slim guy. Im 5'11 and 165 pounds. My fingers were crossed through this whole month long process because i couldnt find no youtube videos. But the suit isnt too bad. @@SartorialStyles ever think of trying out a fresco suit for the warmer months? I figured its the closest ive got to a perfect inbetween of linen and wool except for tropical wool which doesnt really do a proper job. Interestingly enough studiosuits seem to be the only mtm company out there that makes fresco suits with mills other than hardy minnis, like caccioppoli (which interestingly enough they also seem to be the only mtm company that even makes suits with caccioppoli branded fabrics, its a smaller mill which ive seen people like hugo jacomet talk highly of). I purchased a two piece suit super 120 blend and the fabric is acceptable for the price. The trousers fit very well, however the coat has a collar roll on the upper back , the sleeves are baggy, and the arm whole was low causing the chest area to have a loose fit. The person tailoring the chest area does not know how to create a fit torso with high arm whole style and for these reasons I will not be buying from studio suits again.

    I just got my corduroy blazer from Studiosuits. The tailoring is poor and the material is cheap. Between the shoulder blades is 15 inches - super tight. It's 26 inches long and one sleeve has excess material poking out. I'm normally a 38 short. If I bend my arm the wrinkles show like crazy because the corduroy is so thin. It won't straighten itself so the jacket looks like a crumpled mess. Even if it was perfectly tailored, the material is so cheap I wouldn't wear it. Anyone looking at it for more than a few seconds will realize this. If anyone is wondering about ordering...don't. They obviously don't care and just want your cash.

    I have no idea how one can purchase a suit online. If you don't have a crazy physique, I strongly advise saving up just a *bit* more money, and waiting for one of Brooks Brother's frequent sales--where you can purchase a thousand-dollar suit for maybe 40-50% off. (Of course, it helps to have a BB brick and mortar in your area to gauge the fit upfront.) Then take it to a tailor. A suit's too important to gamble on.

  • @SartorialStyles

    @SartorialStyles

    2 жыл бұрын

    I would not say that ordering a suit online is gambling by any means. If you opt for ready-to-wear options, you can easily ship the suit back and get another size. If you opt for a made to measure option, most services offer free remakes and/or credit for further alterations. In addition, the styling of Brooks Brothers suits are way too modern for my personal taste. Slim lapels, belt loops and no pleats on the trousers and so on. Many of their fabrics - even on more expensive suits - are blended and they don't tell you the origin of the cloth. They don't even state the construction method of the jacket on the product page. Ordering from Brooks Brothers might not be gambling, but it surely isn't a good choice to get a well made suit for a decent price - even if they have heavy sales.

  • @mikeymik2

    @mikeymik2

    Жыл бұрын

    Djjdnyc - You are 100% correct. I'm gettin old, and have owned about two dozen + off the rack Brooks Brothers suits, jackets, pants and a pile of their mtm shirts over the decades. They will alter for free at the stores (jacket sleeves and front, pant waist, seat and hem) . An on-sale Brooks Brothers is a great way to save on a REAL business suit that career men, lawyers, Wall Street bankers, Blue Chip executives and even Presidents have worn for over 200 years. Where did Teddy Roosevelt buy his uniform to charge up San Juan Hill - Brooks Brothers of course. When I was first starting out I bought the Brooks Brothers suit separates for less money but were still solid Brooks Brothers. Even Jos A Bank would be a good alternative rather than wasting hard earned cash on these awful and cheap looking Studio monkey suits. My jaw dropped when he said that that linen hobo costume would cost almost 400 Euros, and I wouldn't pay $220 for a lifetime supply of that blue thing. At the office, or anywhere else for that matter, those warped Studio Suits would get you laughed at behind your back all day long even if you were lucky enough to pass a job interview while wearing one. I'm afraid Sartorial Styles' comments on Brooks Brothers suits are really misplaced and he has probably never owned the brand or even been in one of the stores. For example: how can he legitimately say that Brooks Brothers is too modern whereas they are actually known for their conservative American business style (and yes- they will have belt loops and probably suspender buttons), no pleats when there certainly are (more or less at times) and/or are available via made to measure service, and the 1818 staple suits state right on them woven / made in Italy by Tollegno or whatever etc, (used to be USA). While it's true that more and more of the Brooks Brothers line in trousers and jackets have been offshored to Asia over the years, and I think they have closed or limited their Massachusetts factory recently, their suits still are an American icon of the business world, and the offshore sport jackets I have are still very sharp and well made. I can assure anyone that no one is going to think "look at that guy wearing Brooks Brothers crap". While the full price Brooks Brothers suit is by no means "cheap", nor should it be, how Sartorial Styles can say they are not well made is simply baseless, 40-50% off semi-annual sale pricing notwithstanding. For any of you young career guys out there needing an interview suit DO NOT buy this Studio Suit crap. Go to Brooks Brothers or J. Press on sale. Or even Jos A Bank or Mens Warehouse, they will put you in a normal looking suit you can use for a few years. You might even find a beautiful Hart, Schaffner & Marx on sale at Macy's or Nordstrom.

    Sheeesh, not good. My Man, I don't believe that you would actually leave the house wearing either of those in public. The BLUE SUIT: at 6:13 what is going on with the bottom of the back center seam, why does it appear to have extra seams at the center and it's a side vent? Is it the lighting? bizarre at 6:14 it looks like the right lapel peak is sticking up off the chest as you turn around, indeed at 6:38 from the front it appears higher than the left side almost touching the shoulder seam. At 6:32 it looks like the right shoulder /arm seam is differently constructed and positioned higher than the left side, and the spacing between the lapel peaks and arm seams are off maybe up to an inch from one another - because it's LOPSIDED (see also 5:53). At 6:44 it appears the jacket is stiff without any natural drape on the lapel or above the top buttons, like cardboard. At 6:52 the back and arm sleeves look like bad cosmetic surgery and have a ton of excess fabric bunching into the smaller arm holes that strangely extend out from the sides like wing stumps. Like a person who lost a few hundred pounds and now has extra skin. WEIRD. The back seam is off center and veers to the left, while the material appears wavy on one side of the seam like a bad glue job (see also 6:15). At 6:56 what kind of lining is that, polyester? At 7:15 it looks like the pants have no lining at all. The LINEN SUIT would make more sense if you put black eye makeup on, some fake blood at the corner of your mouth, and a whiskey bottle sticking out of the chest pocket: At 8:16 the shoulder lines look like lumpy gravy while the upper arms look snug and the lower arms have enough fabric for Popeye's forearms. At 9:21 it also looks like one lapel notch sits higher than the other lapel which appears bigger, and again it looks lopsided with more chest material on the left (could be because your hand is in the pocket - and look at that sleeve). At 8:36 something looks off about those pleats. I would have liked to see the Jacket back, or maybe not. Just for fun you should cut one up and show us what's on the inside. Thank you for helping me avoid this company as the negative Trustpilot reviews are confirmed. LOL!

    No kidding. I bought a corduroy jacket from them and it's a POS. People post photos of their suits and the material always looks cheap and the tailoring is terrible - including the suits in this video. I appreciate his review, though.

    Benjamin - While watching some random KZread videos I saw a pop up ad for Studio Suits that features multiple scenes of you from this video. I believe this was the ad: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYqZrJdrktO0gKw.html which as of now has about 10,000 views in just 8 days. Congrats on becoming their new worldwide fashion model and company representative!
