This is one of my favorite Hitchcock films (I love the novel as well). I always found it so effective that we never actually see Rebecca.

@@ReelClassicFilmReviews thank you for taking the time to reply! I definitely recommend the novel :)
I just picked up this movie on Blu-ray for $1.50 at a pawn shop. I am really looking forward to watching it. Thanks so much for your review. I love your channel! I have a new channel myself and love collecting older films (in addition to new films), but to find another KZreadr who has a focus on older film is awesome. I just subscribed to your channel and followed you on Instagram. Thanks again!

All coming soon mate! Thanks for watching!
Ooh I have just had a look at some of your reviews and this is a favourite of mine. I think Psycho and this are Hitchcock's best.
what a fantastic film, quite overlooked in my opinion, but definitely top 3 Hitchcock for me. It grips you by the throat and keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire runtime.

Agreed! Thanks so much for watching! 🙏 🎞
I’m late to the party (having only just subscribed) but, being a Hitchcock nut, I had to applaud your good work here and your love of the Master. One thing, though: Hitch’s last movie was Family Plot, not Frenzy. Keep these videos coming.

Firstly thanks so much for subscribing! I really do appreciate that! 👍🏻 and secondly you’re absolutely right! Did I say frenzy!? 🤦🏻♂️😆 my bad… I’ve never been the biggest fan of Family Plot, maybe I blocked it out haha. Thanks for the comment mate, more Hitchcock reviews are on the way 👍🏻🎞

bluraymadness wow thanks!! I really appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed the content... there’s lots more to come... 🎥 🍿🥰
I am wondering about the movie, "Suspicion" it seems like a similar theme and made so close together. Joan Fontaine must have felt like she was in a continual loop.

Yes! Suspicion is also a great Hitchcock classic with some similar plot points. Thanks for your comment! 👍🏻🎥

She may have felt she was on a loop, but I think she got an Oscar for her role in Suspicion, so it was worth it.
This is not a review this is a recap.

It is really isn’t…. This is one of my very early videos, which admittedly leant more into recap territory. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, have a great weekend. 👏🎥
Always find that Hitchcock films have a good twist at the end.
this is more of a summary then a review

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve been trying to find the balance between being informative and giving my personal opinions. This one perhaps leant to far towards the summary side of things for yourself. I appreciate the comment and the time you took to watch. Take care 👍🏻👍🏻
Among my favorite Hitchcock's - though I thought the '79 miniseries was excellent.
Great film, despite Olivier's over doing of Max de Winter. Mrs Danvers is so well done; and Fontaine (Olivia de Havilland's sister) is good too; and never more beautiful. Olivier pushed for his wife Vivienne Leigh, to play the unnamed 2nd Mrs de Winter; and didn't like Fontaine at all (no pressure). Completely agree with you on the drawn out 3rd act; tension killing, courtroom drama. But the wonderful introduction to George Sanders character manages to pick up the thread again. One of Hitchcock's best, in my humble opinion. A great cast, with only Olivier himself dropping the ball a little with his melodramatic overreacting. Great choice though, cracking film!

Thanks so much for watching, it's very much appreciated. I agree with you, I've never been a huge Olivier fan, (which is probably an unpopular opinion) but as Hitchcock's entry into film making in the US it's a very solid start indeed! Thanks again, have a great weekend. 👍📽
Romanesque en diable & onirique, ce film reste l"un des plus envoûtants jamais réalisés !
