Boy! That takes me back! Heading off to uni with a promise to my sister in law that I would be able to strum and sing four strong winds by Thanksgiving. Arrived back and played Rev Gary Davis' Cocaine Blues and knocked their socks off. Never did tell them that was the only song that I played four hours a day for the previous three months! That's Nashville for you!

Hats off to this new singers that went to keep the old folk songs still alive and going kudos to them

This music is great, BUT, it has nothing to do with Our Lord Jesus and to prophesy like this is a horrible example of the Gospel. Yes, music can be such a healing factor in many lives but do not use the Gospel in such a way.

Why are you angry at the group or the singers? I like to hear all good songs put together, the band is good the singers are good. I guess I'm not choosy and I'm happy to hear good music. People who don't like it shouldn't have to listen to it.

I heard all this Classic music when i was in the Philippines 1960's & i was very young at that time & my girlfriend wants me to marry her using this music as a song in the church, my mother took me out from her & had an alibi as a vacation

Yes, the Simon & Garfunkel's songs are very covered quite convincingly. I'd like to know who is singing. It would be nice to mention these are not original singers and also give credit to actual singers.

It may be that these songs as covers are done to keep costs down. If it is required that you pay royalties when a song is used and more for the original artist then using singers who don’t command a high cost could be the reason. Covers are a big part of the music industry and allow for different interpretations. Look how many times Yesterday by the Beatles has been covered or Something. Some suck but some are quite good. Most are not as good as the original but many come close so give these muscians a break.

I noticed this on a lot of these types of playlists and I'm wondering the same thing, like why are they not using the original artists? It says best folk songs 70s so it's kind of misleading, and irritating.
