I just did a 86 buick regal turbo with single stage and did a 2 step correction, trim restoration ( wax in everything) and full interior detail only due to the mothball smell only has 15k miles on it. I had to go light on the paint because it was revealing the popping under all the defects so it was a balance. Turned out great took 3 days about 24-26 hrs and I charged $1590 took about 3 hrs to wash, decon lots of claying and thoughly cleaning the jams and air drying everything and taping all the fragile parts.

2nd 😄 I know exactly how that car smells inside. My grandfather had a 1970 Nova which he sold over 20 years ago and one of my cousins still has his Chevrolet C10 1970 truck which I learned with him how to drive standard on 1980 when I was 12. Some scents bring you the amazing memories.👍👌 Liked the rock music you had on the background 💪😄 Sweet child of mine 💪😄🤘

Nice! I use foam pad polish and Helios on essentially every vehicle. I also like black diamond paste wax on all colors except light silver and white. Great video, thanks!

Great job and choice of products for the GTO, as somebody who has done a number of single stage paints you approach is spot on. My friend has the exact same GTO accept its a 65 in white. Great video Chelsea. 👍🇨🇦

I used that same combination on a couple of black classics with rough paint.

If it is the original paint it is lacquer. Not basecoat clearcoat or enamel. Original lacquer does not have clear coat.

That car turned out great for what you had to work with. Seeing the crazing and crows feet tells me that the paint is definitely acrylic lacquer instead of acrylic enamel or synthetic enamel which were the paints of that era. I know what you mean about the aroma of the classic car interior. I’m 61.the first 4-5 cars I ever owned had that

Meguiars #3 and a soft wool pad, Then finish it up with the with the xtreme 403 and a foam pad. I used to do Lacquer paint when I owned a detail shop back in the early 80s. Then I joined the Air Force, I am retired now but I still enjoy detailing cars. Things have changed, but not as much as you might think. That car has Lacquer paint, the paint is pretty tough. You have to use a rotary polisher not a DA polisher Megs #3 requires heat to work correctly. Be careful on the edges and ridges so you don't BURN the paint. just my opinion.
