Classic Car Leather Seat Softening & Restoration - Jaguar Interior - Leather Repair Company

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Softening leather seats in a classic car.
To soften your dried out hard leather seats in your classic car use the LRC 20 Leather Softening Creme.
Rub this into your classic car leather seats and once coated cover with a plastic bag or clingfilm to make sure this soaks into the leather over a 24 hour period.
This process can be repeated several times if you wish, but a single application is in most cases enough to soften the dried out leather on your classic car seats, making them soft and supple once again.

Very nice. This gives me new hope for my HSV, VY R8 Maloo seats. (You guys have them over in the UK, rebadged as Vauxhall's, I think. But I'm not sure how you designate the models. Extremely hard seats to replace though now. Especially if in good condition... They're as rare as rocking horse shit.

@@LeatherRepairUK the leather seats are worn, but not torn. I'd like to save the leather as opposed to retrim it. I was thinking of going through the whole process like you have described in your series, which would include the dyeing phase in the factory spec. I was wondering if you have a database of factory specs to make the ordering process easier, as opposed to colour matching by sample.

Hi I've got a 20 + year old Pajero. Drivers needs recovering. However need to get passenger and second row softer. To replace renew leather cost prohibited. Unfortunately in SA so not sure if can get this product. Will any softener do same job. As you said might take a few applications and weeks yo notice. Nice Jag seats that's real old leather.

Hi guys. I've been using neatsfoot oil on my cracked and hard leather seats for a couple of weeks now. Probably had 3 thick applications. Left in the sun to open the pores. Doesn't seem to have made a great deal of difference. I'm interested in the product in this video (LRC20). Is this totally different from neatsfoot oil? Is this better? Can I apply LRC20 over leather that I've already been applying neatsfoot oil to? I'd appreciate your advice, thank you.

Use alcohol cleaner to lightly remove neatsfoot, but don’t use neatsfoot on the leather objects to many oils causing even more damage

I have a 1980 Ferrari 308 GTS that has very dry seat bottoms. I've tried multiple products to restore them to a supple healthy look and so far nothing has worked. I've used 1 and a half bottles of Leatherique in trying to make them better but no result. Any suggestions?

That’s a great observation. I don’t think that dyed leather is literally a sealed film like paint is on a steel car part. The dye hygroscopically absorbs into the leather…and over time, the fibers open up due to wear. Why does painted leather smell like leather instead of paint? Hmmm. You see?
