That sci-fi intro is pretty hilarious considering it's a fantasy game but I always love watching scanners like that. It's certainly unique and I've never seen an intro to a WoW video like that.

Wonder why no one is mentioning that even if warriors level faster, they will get outgeared quicker making their leveling even harder. I've played lots of private servers with lots of different xp rates, this is a big problem for a lot of classes.

Your guide helped me so much in choosing hunter as my class, really really thankful for your indepth explanations, hope you'll also have a great start into SoM!

one last thing... i really wish for this SoM, Blizz would make all specs viable and address these mana issues. maybe implement tbc talents an/or revisions. if anythign the revisions on talents which help aide more in mana for specs like boomie and ele sham. Hewlp make the game more enjoyable an i bet you (an i am a table games manager at a casino, i know a good bet when i see one) more will want to play.

Warrior has been my main since vanilla and I prefer to eat or bandage after a fight instead of drinking water. Warrior can take on several fights in a row before the need to heal if you got a good rotation and can take on several enemies at once when you get decent gear. That they removed Bandage in later expansions made me annoyed because bandaging is the way of the warrior, you fight and bandage to quickly get in to next fight! You could also bandage others which was awesome and very appreciated while leveling. I might come back to this season because I had no clue about that they did seasons, I enjoy when all are starting fresh.

Love the honesty. I hate those class selection videos that tell you every class is awesome then you play a paladin..

As far as druid tanks go in phase 1 going into MC, they'll be better than warriors with just blue gear for tanking. Just be prepared to spend 3-5 hours a week in Gnomeregan, more if you are main tanking.

I usually main rogue in classic but I plan on going holy pally to make it easy to get into groups on SOM.

Spellcleave dungeon grinding on Paladins is pretty good xp

I played a warrior tank with purple logs and a Druid out threat me in aq40. Feral Druid tank on alliance is litterly just as good as warrior, only missing out on the CDs. I think in MC Druid will be even better because they can have close to BiS at the first raid if you go Gnom farming

@@rashid2898 The BiS Druid Weapon drops in gnomeregan. It's a lvl 28-32 dungeon so you can solo it with 60 as a druid fairly easy. The weapon has a use effect that makes you attack 50% faster because weapons can'T change DPS or Speed for a druid in shapeshift, this use speed boost makes quiet a difference and with it Druid tanks can even rival Thunderfury Warrior tanks. The item has only 3 uses, but is not unique to my knowledge. So you farm it like a raid consumble, I would have at least 1 per Boss you tank + 2 for wipes. For Trash I would just use an alternative like the Bonecrusher which is a quest reward 30 Strenght aka 60 Attackpower + 1%Crit is pretty neat alternative in early game.

i played feral tank in mc pugs on classic and it was a breeze right away, but raid incentive was relatively low for me since i barely even needed items out of the raid.

Cool video! I have some hot gamer opinions on best classes in battle grounds. If you want to win games, mainly AB, remember these are team fights, not duels. The best is fire mage. Second best is discPriest and warlock (sm/ruin or even raid spec). Also second best is hunter, largely because they provide temporary relief from fireballs causing genocide. With a bit of teamwork, Warriors are great for pushing positions, especially if they are geared! One of the worst classes for AB is shadowPriest. Seriously! Rogues are pretty bad too, especially when there's more than one on your team, which is usually the case. I do however agree that rogues are the masters of world pvp!

Personally I'd give shaman 5 out of 5 for bgs. The heals, purge, totems, and massive burst is an insane combo. Plus they can 1 shot every 3 minutes if specced for that. Don't think any other class can combine healing and damage output as well as a shaman.

Ya its a good argument. I'm with you for wsg, where shammy deserve 5/5...along with a few others. Its cause they fight well in close quarters (ie flag room), and they can save their burst for EFC. But for ab and av, EVEN IF YOU IGNORE their mana issues, shammy are nowhere near as useful as mage or warlock. And noone can stack bodies quite like a deep fire mage. I know alot of you are tired of hearing ab them, but don't forget your still playing a game that was essentially designed for mages and rogues. Every other class is just filler! :p

A well played shaman that is full epicced out with a super good player will be the best out there. But you truly need all that in your favor to be the best on a sham in Classic. And that is ONLY for ele spec. A holy pally has massive single target burst healing that will out do even the best resto sham. I got R14 on a holy pally with slight ret spec mix in Classic. I got R14 on a warrior. I switched between arms and fury on that toon and never touched prot. EMFH does not become super leet until WoTLK . Right now the human racial sucks. But as it goes if two players are of exact equal skill and the worlds best sham is up against the worlds best rogue in 1v1s, then the rogue will win 100% of the time. Rogues have existed in Blizzard lore since Warcraft 1 as Brigands, but Blizzard was unable to create a stealth effect, so Blizz just said they stealthed and that came later in WoW. Rogues were originally much more powerful in the Alpha tests and Demo tests (demo before alpha) They were staying in stealth long after they had begun attacking and the actual stealth sound effect that you hear now in game was an accident. Blizzard could not figure out how to remove it but later when they could figure out how, the team decided to keep it because it was a neat effect they said. And btw. I gank people on my pally and I get praised for it, I gank people on my rogue and I get raged at. A rogue does not need the best gear to be the best out there. Only arms warriors gave my rogue trouble towards the end of original Classic. Now as I roll a rogue again with even more skill. I plan to put those arms in their place... so many of the pro warriors run with a pocket heals though.

Back when classic launched, when levelling my human warlock I had people staying away from me (but they'd attack other people). - One instance I got jumped by a tauren warrior and druid. I sacced my Void and cast Howl of Terror, dotted both up as they were feared, then feared the warrior again, by the time he was dead the druid had run off. - Got jumped by a Troll Hunter 6 levels higher than me, and though I had to Soul Stone, I still killed him. - I got jumped by a 60 orc rogue (I was 56), Seduction > nuke > deathcoil > dots he was dead. - When I was 36 I got jumped by a 41 orc enhancement shammy in Desolace and the fight took 3 minutes with the Shammy eventually dying. Warlocks are a really good solo levelling class on even PVP realms.

Harder raids and shorter duration spent on each raid is really good for alliance in pvp. Because what it means is that you wont see ele shamans running around with caster rings on all the time deleting people, since all these pieces will need to go to mages and warlocks for progression and people wont stick on one spot forever. Having ranking in place from the start also makes ally strong in pvp because of how good paladins are at low item levels (lay on hands and other cds like bop, freedom always strong but obviously do not scale with gear at all).

I just honestly don't know how to roll anything but a rouge.

Druids are hurt by the changes in SoM overall, but specifically- B.Druid + kitty, get that ranked gear and you are set till BWL (a few drops) and then you are swapping in and out a couple pieces each phase but the PvP set is just that good that it’s Bis for a hot minute. Resto is hurt by the longer fights since they will innervate the main healer in fights, and the mana problems they have that was helped with world buffs is now gone. They scale into regrowth spec decently if you are the guild’s resto Druid (usually room for 1 Rdruid 1B/Fdruid). Boomkins are severely hurt by the lack of mana but are overall unchanged in PvP since you wouldn’t be running WB’s into PvP. It would be easier to farm PvP as feral since the gear is so much better from ranked sets for ferals than boomies.

As if boomkins and shadow priests weren’t already a joke enough in classic. Shadow priests were already doing rank 1 mind flay when the boss was at 75% health just to ‘look like you were doing something’ cause you were oom. Wish they would add more support for these meme specs. With the debuff limit change as a warrior main from classic I thought I’d main spriest this go around in SoM until I heard about the fight changes. Meme specs are worse off now than they were before.

@@Threexsix Ranged are more favored in a lot of boss fights across the phases but the sheer power / stat itemization of r8-14 gear / weps for melees is the strongest power spike bar none in the game. You have 0 wasted stats unlike other classes. You can still run ranged such as hunter, warlock, mage, but spriest is more niche and would probably require you to run alliance for the SoW support in raids. Running spriest horde would be for the pvp 1v1's essentially.

the only spec a mage cant win with equal condition, is soul link warlock. i think they should be 5/5 in open pvp. also the ability to bomb whole raids with a few mages is somthing, no other class has. good video overall, rankings in general seems to fit. maybe put wl in 5/5 in pve, as they seems to be very strong on beta, and warlocks getting better with more hit gear avaible later in classic

@@PedsHouse yes in classic but this is season of mastery which nerfed Frost mages slowing and root debuffs so aoeing might not be as efficient, still mage could be a 4 or 5 in leveling speed, having teleport to each city saves a lot of time and Frostbolt specc is also flexible and a fast way to solo lvl up.

I feel that with them increasing the difficulty of the raids and adding new mechanics, they really should use the TBC pre-patch talents and abilities or something. You're going to see even more metagaming/min-maxing because the fights are harder now, so meme specs are going to suffer even more while before when the raids were pretty easy you didn't care as much. The argument against it previously was it made the raids easier, but that's going to be negated by improved raid encounters. TBC talents/abilities + harder/modified raids is basically the Classic+ everyone wants.

It appears they want to have thematic seasons so it would be cool for them to build a fresh season around tbc pre-patch in regards to talent/spell changes. Of course they would need to prune some talents and make adjustments which might be too much for their team to undertake

You're not getting that damage regularly until tier 3. SM ruin definitely isn't OP, it's a strong build and the best wsg premade build, but premades barely even want locks (they will add 1 tops)

warlocks are OP. SL locks are by far the strongest 1v1 spec/class combination in the game, there is a reason that combination is banned at almost every dueling tournament.

Hunters have mana problems and drop off in dps. ( Love the hunter )

You give priests a higher score for 1v1 PVP than for their battleground viability? Sorry, but that's just plain wrong. Every top rated WSG premade in classic contained two discipline priests, not only for their all round healing abilities but also for their offensive dispels which are extremely powerful. Dispelling FAPS off a warrior or, especially, a druid FC is a game changer.

question... how are mages at least not 4/5 if not 5/5? They have the most broken leveling potential after lv 20 than any other class

not to mention their portals allow them to literally skip anywhere from 15 to 30 mins of travel time once they learn their cities TPs an portals. Also in world pvp, a mages only enemy is a feral druid. if any class deserved 5/5 in world pvp, its mages.

@@disturbedx1000 the lower ranking is because AoE leveling won't be as viable, but honestly I've done frost mage a few times and it is excellent, the only thing you are missing is a pet to tank for you reliably. 4/5 is probably more fair imo for leveling. AoE leveling is the worst anyway, in terms of enjoying the game

Mage leveling speed 3/5?? Even with the questing xp changes, the aoe capability of mages far outweighs having to drink. Unless every spot is camped to the max and there's hardly any layers, mages will still be either first or second best. They were king at leveling speed in classic, and only hunters may be faster now.

even for the usual quests like kill 12 of these and 8 of that -mages can aoe farm those. i guess it hardly depends on you ability to collect enough to make aoe farming profitable - at the evening where everyone else is playing you wont have a good time. if you can play in the early morning - well thats something else. hunters dont have that big struggle.

Have you not seen the beta MC clears with locks dumping on warriors, rogues, and mages? It isnt even close.

Best class is still going to be mage followed by warrior. If anything, the changes only made these classes better.

definitely wont be mage this time around at all. bosses having twice as much health just means mages are going to run out of mana. no world buffs on top of that means the bosses are going to die extremely slowly. It's going to be melee meta to the extreme this time.

Paladins ARE fast at leveling from 1 to around 40. They'll get ahead of the curve no problem, but the last 10 levels are kinda slow.

Hardest 1 to 10 by far

A few comments. A lot of good information but some of it is total bs. Rogues 4 in bgs? While lock and mage gets 3? Not a chance they far outpace rogues in bgs. Druid horrible in world pvp? They are one of the absolute best. Aside from reckoning paladin, a skilled druid feral multispec.. is one of the easiest ways to beat rogues. Can open from stuns bleeds ff stealth lockout, bear up and stun tank them down some more and they have near no chance to win. If they use cheap extras, you have them too. Also never ganked by a pally? Mageadin spec, reckbomb spec, ironfoe t2 shield spec, even geared ret pally which has 2 ccs hammer of justice and repentance.

Yep! I'd give Locks and mages 5/5 in BGs. A skilled lock or fire mage with decent gear will carry an AB or AV team in each and every game they play! No other class is nearly as prolific at killing. I'd give rogue 3/5 for wsg but only 2/5 for AB. Shadow priest also only 2/5 in BGs. 4/5 maybe goes to discPriest/warrior/hunter?

You still think melee meta is best for MC after changes?

If you check out some of the latest MC raid beta testing by e.g. Staysafe, it seems that ranged will be stronger than melee in many cases (not all ofc) with warlocks being top contender.

its gunna be situational some fights are gunna be melee advantageous some will be ranged advantageous it depends on how punishing the mechanics are to the ranged in BWL and AQ 40 also if they punish the melee more in thoes two the ranged will be invaluable.

Ranged is easier, melee benefit from r8-14 gear + weps more. Raids will take anyone who’s that level of geared but the current MC/Ony prefer ranged comps. You still bring everyone for optimal buffs and loot drops but you skew ranged
