I am learning Vedic astrology and I have malavya yoga formed having Venus placed in the sign of Taurus and I am a Scorpio Lagna. I know Venus is a function malefic for Scorpio lagna and I just ended my Venus Mahadasha last month. My mother also has Malavya yoga formed with Venus exalted in Pisces in her 10th house and is a functional benefic for her Gemini Lagna. Even though she did not experience Venus MD yet or unlikely to experience in this lifetime she did turn from rags to riches after marrying my father. Since I was already born in a somewhat wealthy family I never considered ourselves rich. I have rahu in the second house alone so it makes me very unsatisfied with wealth and always want more. Some of my friends tell me I am lucky to be from a well off family but my response is we are poor compared to the other rich neighbors we have or the famous multi millionaires or billionaires that are well known in society.

@@vineethuthayakumar3027 it was better than my Ketu dasha maybe because Venus is also exalted in my D9 chart Pisces Pushkara navamsa but was not good for relationships maybe because I have Saturn in 3rd house restricting romance. In my D9 chart, Venus and Jupiter are in mutual exchange being in Pisces and Libra respectively and I would say Venus MD-Jupiter AD was one of the best periods of my life in terms of happiness, beauty and material things but I wouldn’t say the entire period was like that. There were still some hard periods but I did feel the improvement after Ketu dasha

@@vineethuthayakumar3027 it really depends because other factors have to be taken into consideration. Is your Venus alone in the 7th house or is it conjunct with another planets? Is another planet aspecting Venus? For my D1 chart Venus is alone in 7th house and is not aspected by any other planet. I am 31 years old and just exited my Venus dasha. I never got into a relationship even though I wanted to and it was because my Saturn’s 3rd aspect was looking at my 5th house which deals with romance. Arranged marriage is not really practiced in my culture which would have been a way to avoid Saturns blockage for my marriage. Also how is Jupiter and Venus in mutual exchange in your chart? If Venus is in it’s own sign Taurus then it cannot mutual exchange with another planet being in its own sign.

@@vineethuthayakumar3027 the results of your Venus dasha will not be the same as mine in that case. Does that mean Ketu is in your 2nd house? That would mean you have difficulty earning money on your own even though you might be really good in ideas of making money but it is easier for you to depend on other for money. This is also supported by the fact Venus (7th lord) in mutual exchange with Jupiter (2nd lord) money may come from the spouse instead or spouse is the bread winner in the family. Saturn retrograde in 7th house tells me delay in marriage or older spouse. Very hard to determine how your dasha is going to be and cannot be compared to mine even though we are both Scorpio lagna because planets in conjunction will also be active during your dasha so this includes Ketu, Jupiter and Saturn also being active in your Venus MD. Also check the nakshatra lord of Venus and placement. For example my venus is in Krittika nakshatra so Sun placement makes a difference. Sun is in 6th house 12 places away from Venus and my father passed away during early Venus MD so it makes sense. I would think for you 7th house and marriage is the main theme for your dasha especially with the exchanges and conjunctions happening in your chart.

Consider two cases: 1. Aries rises at 2 degrees and Venus is exalted sitting at 27 degrees 2. Pisces rises at 15 degrees and Venus is in Pisces at 27 degrees Would case one constitute a Malaya yoga? If so, which of the above two cases constitutes the more powerful Malaya yoga? Thank you

Yes in both cases Malavya yoga applies. In fact Venus being the 3rd and the 8th lord will not give all round progress for Pisces ascendant. For Aries ascendant being the 2nd and 7th lord in the ascendant gives rise to a strong Raja yoga. Here the 8th lord which is also the ascendant lord has to be well placed.

Strength of luminaries does matter in a chart as a whole no doubt. When Jupiter and Venus are conjunct in the ascendant and that being Pisces, the native will be extraordinarily brilliant, but may go through difficult relationships and married life, as you can see there will be a conflict between the 8th lord Venus and the ascendant lord Jupiter.

What if Venus is in own sign in 9 th house?

You said about shukra own sign in Libra ascendant present in lagna but combust by Surya too will it still give malavya result also moon also in lagna combust Saturn too in lagna not combust though but far from sun Venus moon degree wise but in lagna only in bhav chalit too

In an earlier class, you have also said that Shukra in 7th house can impede that house due to 'kaarako bhavanashaya' concept. Can you tell us which will prevail more than the other? Yes you are right with regard to the points of Malavya yoga. Though Venus is strong in the 7th house, it does cause karakobhavanashaya. It does not apply to Saturn fully, but the native will experience delay due to the placement.

Sir , for Sagittarius ascendant, if Venus falls in Vrishabha in his own sign does it satisfies Malavya yoga? because you said own sign and exalted venus should be there. In this case he is in hus own sign.

Exalted or own sign but it should also be in kendra from lagna ( means 1st,4th 7th or 10th house)...& Your venus is in 6th house so no Malaviya yoga.

When Venus forms this yoga, though it is a malefic to the ascendant, it will give positive results. The fact if Venus is malefically conjunct will decrease the effectiveness of the yoga.

Raja yogas and Panchamahapurusha yogas (like Malavya yoga) are there for the whole life. It plays a supporting role when its dasha period is not going on, as in your case. It will become very active in its Major/Minor periods.

Does the dignity of Venus matter? What if Venus is in a quadrant from the ascendant, but is conjunct with and/or aspected by a malefic? I assume this yoga will be weak in such a case.

Dignity of Venus really matters. All the yoga function to their fullest of potential only when in perfect condition. The aspect or conjunction of malefic planets will alter the results drastically.
